Grityka's Review On Saranathan College Of Engineering - [SCE], Tiruchirappalli

My parents cannot afford to pay hostel fees in other cities so I chose to stay in my city. According to people Saranathan college of engineering is the best engineering college in trichy. Lots of students are trained well by the respected teachers and are getting eligible to attend campus interviews. Many students have been selected in good companies too. I prefer to work in a software company so I chose Computer Science and engineering.

We were not provided with much industrial exposure. My department(CSE) forbids us from going to industrial visits for no reason. This year was the first time in our HOD's years of service, she approved us to go to Chennai Infosys for 2 days. Some faculties did their best to motivate us and as well as taught us a lot.Some faculties knew the subject but they need training on how to explain them to their students.Some of The best faculties according to me were 1) Mrs.Thillaikarasi from CSE (subject-DAA) This subject was a tough one and nobody can teach the way she taught us. 2)Mr.Dinesh Kumar from CSE (subject python) All staffs can teach us programming but only a few can make us understand and do coding on our own. He's one of the few staffs. 3) Mr.Sriram Balaji from ECE(subject Communication Engineering) He left our college last year. He was one of the best staffs who taught us the most hard and vast subject within a period of time and the best motivator of all. He begins our daily class with a prayer and a motivational story which influenced our daily life.

As per my knowledge, Infosys and TCS have visited our college. More than 100 students were placed in these companies. These companies conduct exams prior to interview.The students who clear these exams are directly selected to HR round. Infosys also offered us websites so that we can practise before attending their exams.

To be honest, I haven't seen any technical events conducted by our college,I have only seen a few workshops being conducted. Culturals happened during my 1st year in college.This year it was cancelled due to lockdown. Few dance events was conducted.And I hope our Culturals was a low budget one compared to other city colleges. Our management celebrated Bi-decennial Festival potraying their 20th Anniversary. The one thing which I like the most about management was They gave more importance to Women's Day celebration.Girls were asked to participate in various events for a week. And on the day of women's day they announced the prize winners and awarded them with certificates.

Students were provided with cricket grounds, basket ball courts etc.There is a Wi-Fi connection in our college which can be accessed by teachers. Not a huge library. But comfortable enough for students to sit and read peacefully. They have good equipments and also backups in case of damage. Computer labs have a good ambience with enough computers for all students.
