Shivanath Shastri college is third best college for commerce in kolkata. With efficient teaching faculty and ample amount of seats, it creats huge learning opportunities for students who want to persue Bcom. This college has comparatively lower fees than other top bcom colleges which makes it affordable for many students. There are workshops,programmes and campussing facilities provided to the students which motivate them to thrive in their academics more. Besides strict academic discipline,this college also organises several yearly cultural functions which lets students explore and showcase their extra-curricular talents.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure is thoroughly revised and updated. The online website of shivanath shastri college provides a detailed pdf of the three year course structure with complete syllabus and subjects in the whole course. Students can easily get all infos about the course structure by downloading the pdf. The Academic environment of the college is very much efficient. Detailed classes are taken to cover the syllabus thoroughly. The faculty of the college is very efficient and helpful.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
