Remarks

The college management is not good. Whether it is the hostel management, wardens, caretaker, administration block, hospital or any other department, people are not at all willing to work.

Entrance Preview

I got this college through CCB counselling of AIEEE. I got an score of 177 in JEE 2012, 293 in BITSAT 2012 and AIR 35570 in AIEEE. I was not having much options and I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer. So, I chose this college and took admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is average and faculty members are also average. The exam pattern and evaluation is taken from IITs and is good. The exams are internal and also the evaluation and grading.

Internships Opportunities

I have undergone my summer intern at NTPC. I had applied myself for it and most of the students did the same. The college provided internships at one of the hydro power plants to those students who could not get any internship offers.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements are average. A very few core companies for mechanical engineers visit the college and most of the students either chose to appear for IT companies interviews or go for higher studies.

College Events

3.5

The college is good on this part. There is a Technical Fest, a cultural fest, a management fest, architecture fest, literary fest and many other events conducted throughout the year. The college infrastructure is also good.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is not very expensive. This was also one of the reasons why I had chosen this college. The tuition fee we are paying is 60, 000 per year, hostel fee is 15, 750 per year for single room, and the mess fee is 24, 000 per year. The fee has been hiked somewhat for our junior batches.

Fees and Financial Aid

College offers scholarship to top 10% students ranging from 100% to 10% of tuition fee. There are two banks inside the campus to offer loans.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is good. Extra curricular activities are frequent. Labs are well equipped. Competitions are also conducted by various clubs time to time.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel is good with 24*7 electricity, water and internet. Double sharing rooms are given to first year students and afterwards single rooms from second year. The mess food is average and not so good.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni are good but there is not a proper network to connect with them. Some of the students have recently taken an initiative to connect to those seniors and an alumni meet is also proposed this year.

Exam Structure

The exams are conducted three times every semester. Two minor exams along with a major exam. The minor exams account for 20 marks each and major exams for 50 marks. Remaining 10 marks are for assignments.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
