Remarks

It is one of the most prestigious college in West Bengal. The faculty for commerce stream is very good and the placement of these college is good. The teachers are friendly and are highly qualified and they guide students. They give students proper guidance and help in every aspect. The course is designed as per CU syllabus. The syllabus covers every topics which helps students to pursue higher studies like PGDM, MBA, executives, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course for Bachelors of Commerce in Accounting and Finance Honours is a very vast syllabus and is divided into six semesters which are very much interlinked to each other and is helpful for the students pursuing this course. The course is designed as per CU syllabus. The syllabus covers every topics which helps students to pursue higher studies like PGDM, MBA, executives, etc.

Class Size: 180Course Fees: INR 33600 per year

Placement Experience

Placements: 1) 50% of students were placed in the course. 2) The highest salary is 10520, lowest is 7000 and average is 8500. 3) TCS, Capegemini, Genpact, Kotak Mahindra Insurance and Tech Mahindra visited here. 4) Process executive, processor, admin, accountants, data entry specialist, web chat, etc. roles were offered. Infrastructure: 1) The college is well designed. Classrooms are airy with library facilities and computer labs are available. Different computer courses are also provided for extra skills. Wi-Fi is available for 24 hours. 2) No hostel facility is there. The college canteen provides good quality food at cheaper rate.

College Events

The college has a union named Sivanath Sastri College Non Political Students Union. They organise many events such as Parichay for welcoming new students every year. Utkash is the annual fest of the college. It take place during the winter recess. There are many clubs such as Art Club, Dance Club, Acting Club, Modeling Club and many more. They also organise an annual sports meet every year. The college also take part in many competitions organized by other colleges. For participating in the any events the seniors or the Union members select the students who are best in the category needed.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Moderate College Life.

After HS I applied many colleges but I didn't got chance at the top notch colleges as they damand more marks than I got. After trying so many colleges I finally got admitted to this college.
