Remarks

Because this is one of the elite colleges of Kolkata and I've not regretted my decision. My department is perfect and we have so many co curriculars in our college too. Our college is the oldest college of West Bengal and has an amazing history to it.

Course Curriculum Overview

In my college, we are provided excellent exposure in our college. All our faculties are marvellous. Professor Esita Sur and Professor Pradipta Roy are the best teachers you can ever have. We make the best possible use of technology in our classes too. Our professors use PPT in all our classes and even movie stills and clippings to explain certain topics

Course Fees: INR 14500 per year

Placement Experience

We have a placement cell in college but I don't need that cause my course is not concerned with it. So I don't have much idea about it.

College Events

We have a fest called Caledonia and it's very well known across the city. You can check out about our college on Wikipedia. We ourselves participate in all the fests of Kolkata and we get enormous exposure.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have scholarships in our college but that can be availed only on the economic condition of the student. If you really have economic problems then we have a full fee waiver scholarship too.

Campus Life

Our campus is huge and infrastructure is also good. We have a ground which is big enough to house 2-3 residential complexes. The campus is very well maintained and it is spotlessly clean. We have morning prayers in college which are compulsory for Christian students and optional for non-Christians, but they are worth attending.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I also applied to the main university but didn't get a chance there. That is why I had to take admission in this blasted institution. I received the rejected from the University due to my lack of percentage in the paper called marksheet. That is what went wrong. The admission process is completely done through the internet. To apply one must have a minimum of 60 % marks in their previous courses. That allows you to fill up the application form. It was good to be a part of that college

You have to pass the 12 th boards with above 90% marks then only you'll get the college. They always have the application form and all the informations in there official college website. There was reservation policies as I was sc so it was a little bit low cut off for my reservation. The exam pattern and difficulty level was a little bit hard.
