Remarks

College was awesome. All catholic friends, christian environment with pluralism and tolerance, helped me excel in my academics. Faculties were strict and didn't allow nonsense. No shorts, skirts on the campus (the princi would do rounds of the front and back campus - like the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai lol). A good place to be in for holistic social development, but for academics, it was more like self-study.

Entrance Preview

CET (Common Entrance Test) - I scored 52 on 100. This was required for BSc(IT) admissions with Math being compulsory at 10+2. I got lucky to get selected in the final list and hence this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course was good. It gives a high level overview of the IT syllabus generally, more like Jack of all Master of none. I believe it has gone through changes for improvements already.

Internships Opportunities

There is no internship with or from the college, not until I passed out. I don't recollect having any companies visiting the campus for job offers as well. In this case, the question of stipend is also not applicable.

Placement Experience

0.5

Like I said there were no companies visiting the campus for job offers or placements. Job opportunities outside wasn't influenced by being affiliated to this college since it was not an MIT or IIT.

College Events

4.5

The college had a lot of events. I really don't remember the names, but the BMM side of the academia had many of them. Also since the college hosted one of the largest auditorium in Bombay, it would have a lot of external events going on all the time. Kind of created nuisance sometimes.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees for each year of BSc(IT) was 15, 000 INR. I am not sure if they offered financial subsidy or scholarships since I didn't take one. However it did have christian reservation for minorities putting the general seat at risk. Fees were at par with any BSc(IT) college, so in summary, not expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not sure if they offered financial subsidy or scholarships since I didn't take one. However it did have christian reservation for minorities putting the general seat at risk. Fees were at par with any BSc(IT) college. The DCB (Development Credit Bank)'s Golder Career loan is a good option.

Campus Life

5

Gender ratio was awesome. F>M and I being a male, it worked Tolerance, cultural exposure, none of it was a problem unlike the current state of the country. There was however christian minority quota but that was ok given everyone in India wants reservations, irrespective. Kids of bollywood celebrities and having Genelia D'Souza just 1 year ahead of me, made the college more exciting.

Hostel Facilities

2

There are no hostels or paying guest facilities with the college, nor endorsed by the college in it's vicinity.

Alumni/Alumna

There is no alumni network. There was no help from the then senior students and we as alumni are also not connected. No event for this nor any invitation.

Exam Structure

Exams were as per any general norm. 6 semesters 12 examination sessions. Exams weren't like the IITs but definitely needed effort to pass since lack of teaching skills already affected the learning. Lab sessions were bare minimum so that didn't really take too long.

Faculty

2

Most of the faculties actually knew their subject well. I think they knew the material enough, they probably lacked the skills of teaching. Unfortunately they were never late so we would get the beating for being late.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
