Remarks

I opted for this course because of two reasons. one, i had a bachelors degree in the same subject area, and two, i have always been interested in studying mass communication. the infrastructure & facilities of the university are great. the syllabus and course structure is one of the major reasons for selecting this university and this course too. a lot of practical work, and assignments are inclusive in the course structure giving us better understanding of what our main calling is, in the long run.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is great, with a lot of practical work inclusive in the course. it gives students hands on learning experience to understand what they are interested in, and what they are good at. the faculty is really supportive and encouraging. they always support and guide us through working on new ideas in not just curriculum based activites but also co-curricular activites. the academics standards are mostly good, keeping in mind that the university is known for maintaining excellent academic records.

Internships Opportunities

Compulsory internship after first year completion. I worked at The Statesman for a month, without stipend as part of compulsory internship programme of the university for masters students.

Placement Experience

3.5

job opportunities and placements, vary from department to department. but overall, the placement scenario is good. there is a placement team dedicated to guiding and leading the students in the right direction, bringing the top companies to allow for excellent placements in the long run.

College Events

4.5

Fests are a big deal at Xavier's university. students and faculty work together in making all events, big or small, a huge success. some departments, like mass communication, has its own communication fest which has a good turn out in terms of participation response from other colleges and universities. apart from that, seminars, webinars, debates competitions, etc, are a regular thing at the university. this allows for students to grow in academics and more importantly in personality development skills.

Campus Life

Campus has a lot of facilities for co curricular activities like sports, cultural fests, and more. Apart from co curricular, the facilities for practical work and exposure is excellent, with high end technology and all the latest gadgets, to keep students updated about industry standards.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
