Remarks
You can choose Stella for the campus and good standard. You have to make sure you choose the right company and if you do so, college life will be a bliss, you can go through a right mixture of studies, extra curricular activities, fun, enjoyment, I would recommend Stella to anyone who wants to take up Arts and Science. This is a way better than most of the colleges. The only pinch may be fees which again is a minor hiccup compared to the good college life you get to enjoy.
Entrance Preview
I am a Commerce student and I didn't have to take up any entrance exam. But they had considered Accounts, Commerce and Maths for cut off and luckily my cut off was 99% and hence got a seat. The interview process was simple. Just submit the relevant mark sheets and docs and then you have to wait to hear if you are selected. I didn't have much of an idea about this college myself but had applied after hearing that it is very good.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum was of a good standard covering various aspects of finance, cost, management, banking etc. so you end up getting a fair idea about the industry.
Internships Opportunities
There was no internship required for my course. And hence I cannot comment on the same. You can probably check the same for some other course. sorry, no comments
Placement Experience
I had passed out in the year 2009. That was the time when there was recession. So, to be true, I couldn't see very many companies. There were hardly some 3 or so if I remember right and some companies demanded 80% or above as an aggregate to be able to apply. So most of the batch mates couldn't even think of it. Plus I was also pursuing CMA and hence wanted to try for jobs only after completing the professional degree which has much much more value than a Bachelor degree.
College Events
Culturals every year was much awaited and everyone enjoyed attending the same. Entry was restricted to Girls college only from my 2nd year which left many girls in shock!! There were both Intra and Inter college culturals. Other than that we had our Valedictory, Farewell Photo shoot, Ethnic days and certain others which kept us excited and entertained.
Fee Structure And Facilities
This is quite an annoying part, there were 4 sections and only 1 was given very big discounts on the fees, not sure how the college chose ppl to fall under that section, it was a mystery till the end. and the most saddening part is that most of the girls in that section were super rich, so whats the point in putting them in a section which demanded them to pay fees which was almost 40-50% less than what other section girls paid!? the college should have been transparent in this process if thats the least to say.
Fees and Financial Aid
There was an offer to very low income group students to rent books from the college library for the year. This I felt was very good, But again some books were always unavailable.
Campus Life
We could get to choose extra curricular activities and I chose Yoga. I really loved it. The yoga mater was a gem. Coming to the campus, Stella is THE BEST!! you can choose to study in this college just for the beauty of the campus which extends vast and covered with so many trees.
Hostel Facilities
I did not stay in college hostel. I stayed at my home only. Canteen Food was okay. definitely not delicious. Price was moderate.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors were friendly and strctly no ragging which again is a plus, I have not had much interactions with seniors, But most of them seemed to be nice and helpful.
Exam Structure
I cannot call it hectic or chilled out. But it was quite manageable. The only irritating part was that we were asked to goto college and collect hall tickets a few days before exam which usually fell during study holidays. so it was a pain for many travelling from far to start from homes just to collect hall tickets.
Faculty
Most of the faculty had sound knowledge about the subjects they deal with. Some were friendly too. Some were strict. But never mind when then teach well right.
