Because it's rated as one of the best colleges in Asia and the best in the city for Commerce students. I chose Xavier's because I wanted to maximize my post-college opportunities while still in school. They have a vast alumni network, and could help get internships and jobs for work experience. I also want to study at a reputed university, with a stimulating environment as I have always lived in major cities where I can go to cafes, to hear music, to museums and sports events as part of my everyday life. St. Xavier's College has become one of the best in the India and Asia. It has top professors and is located in the middle of a historic city, and accessible to everything. It has a strong international relations program which would be perfect for me since I have attended a diverse international school. I noticed all these things when I was studying in St. Xavier's Collegiate School. St. Xavier's notable reputation and history, it's everyone's dream to study here.

Library: Main College Library : Books from the Main Library are lent to students only under the control of the Senior Professor in each Department. Class Rooms: Class rooms are large and capable of accommodating a large number of students without cramping. They are surrounded by large spacious verandahs for students to move and breathe freely. No loitering please. Hostel: Hostel accommodations are available for the boys, just 10 minutes away from the College, at 219/1 J. C. Bose Road. Computer Facility: Offices, laboratories, library are all computerised for providing faster and better services. Cyber Room: SXC Cyber Room is now equipped with high speed (4MBPS Leased Line) Internet Connectivity. The services are available to the Cyber Club Members only.

Xavier's College Kolkata is really awesome. Placements: About 70% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered was 2 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 1 LPA. The average salary package offered was 1.5 LPA.

We have sports, different fest throughout the year, cultural programs, national events etc. The Xaverian Film Academy was set up in the year 2009 under the guidance of Fr. Gaston Roberge and Fr. George Ponodath. Previously known as the Film Club, the Academy has been functioning as one of the most active societies in St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. The students of the Mass Communication and Videography Department are de facto members of the society, including the members of the Film Studies Department. The society is currently headed by Prof. Ananya Chakrabarti (Assistant President, XFA) and Prof. Utsav Chatterjee (Vice President, XFA). Since, it’s initiation seven years ago the Xaverian Film Academy has actively hosted workshops, interactive sessions, film screenings and its much anticipated annual fest Cinematheque, which has grown into one of the most awaited student film festivals in the city.
