Remarks

BE Mechanical is ABET accredited, being a private institution, its hostels are of very good standard, faculty is very educated, placement record is great. I got placement in Capgemini with CTC of 6.8 LPA

Course Curriculum Overview

Ranked 20th among the top 100 engineering institutions of India. Course syllabus is updated but not to up to the industry standards, and I think this is the lag in our education system. Personally, I admire my automobile professor Dr. Devender Kumar, he is most updated teacher in his field and makes the subject very interesting by teaching beyond the bookish knowledge and give examples of the real world.

Internships Opportunities

There is 6 month internship semester for every branch which college helps to opt otherwise we have to find on our own. If we were not able to get from the college and also failed to find on our own, there is project semester for the replacement. My internship was in TATA Motors Ltd. Pantnagar with a stipend of INR 18000. I have done two projects there in defects reduction. Faculties visit the companies for the feedback from students and from the employee of that company twice in the whole semester.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements are good, even its rate is decreasing every year because the intake strength is increasing day by day. But yes companies visit throughout the year with different profiles. Most important is that we are valued by the companies. As I saw on my internship. We were treated in the category of premium interns at TATA. At present placements are good, but they have to maintain otherwise it will affect the reputation of the college. I was also in a startup named Colinkers Event Management Pvt. Ltd., there are many startups which were started with the help of college entrepreneurship cell.

College Events

4.5

The campus life is very amazing as there are many society. Every week, some event is going on. But timing for girls is upto 8:50 which is not great. Talking about the college fest, its name is Saturnalia, various colleges participate in it and a celebrity singer comes. Last year Zakir Khan and Ritwiz came. For freshers, the society name FROSH and TFF (Thapar Food Fest) will definately excite them, because this two societies interacts with them in the very beginging. There is a society for every field, sports, technical, fun, entrepreneurship etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got a scholarship in first year of INR 80,000 on the basis of JEE Mains + 12th board result. 15 Student got this in my branch and I am the last one in the list. This scholarship continues based on your CGPA but I was not able to get that. But yes, its not very difficult to maintain the CGPA. There are many other scholarships also, like for top three branch topper.

Campus Life

Campus infrastructure definitely impresses you specially the new library. Its huge, very huge. Even we can issue our books on our own with the advanced machines present there. Sports facilities are not up to my expectations because I am an archery and badminton player. But archery is not available and even there is single synthetic court for badminton. Labs are very advanced, some labs even have apple desktops.
