Remarks

One of the major reasons why most students opt for WCE is because of its Excellent Placements! If you spot a random student and ask why did he/she opted for WCE 9/10 people respond placements. The next reason being its Infrastructure: Imagine you will be enjoying four years in a beautiful lush green campus which have a world-class library with over more than 1 lakh books which include covers all technical along with personality development domains. The campus has a 24*7 wifi facility also it has more than 1000 computers for students with high-speed internet. If you are a sports person then you will be in the right place as the college campus has a superb badminton court, a decent gym, basketball court, a big playground where you can play cricket, football, kabaddi, kho-kho, tug of war, etc. From Financial aspects: ROI in WCE is way greater than its other competitors like VJTI and COEP as the cost of living in Sangli is affordable as compared to Mumbai and Pune.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I got the electronics branch and that too in the last cap round. I just wanted to be a part of WCE as it has superb placements. Faculty are supportive, they try their best to ensure students are able to understand what is being taught. The course curriculum is updated with latest industry trends, in some branches it may get delay. Almost every department includes faculty who have pursued their PG or PhD from IITs, NITs or even IISc its a good thing about faculty members. WCE has a decent teaching methodology all classroom consists of digital boards which really makes learning fun, also every lab is well furnished and has a high speed internet connection. Thing which matters is learning, you are surrounded by top 5% students from you state and they are really talented, a lot of learning happens off college timings, its basically when you spend most of your time with your peer group. Student whom you surrounds for those 4 years play crucial role in deciding your destiny.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Yes, our college does offer a lot internship opportunities with a stipend ranging between 10k per month to 60-70k or even more if tech giants came. The work and roles of student during internship vary from company to company. Internship ensures students get proper understanding of domain in which they would be working.

Placement Experience

4.5

In 6th semester students get eligible for there placements. Every year 65+ companies visit college campus out of which 60% companies are IT companies and remaining are core companies. This year due covid 19 number companies came were bit less as compared to that of previous year, still placement season is going on so i will talk about last year's scenario Last year around 545 offers were made by 68 with an average salary of 6.7 lakhs. Highest package was offered 43 lakhs by google to one of the student from CSE department. Overall 85% students get placed, most of the students don't sit for placements as they wanted to pursue Civil Services aka UPSC/MPSC some wanted to go for higher studies so they prepare for various entrance exams like CAT, GATE.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am currently in a final year student. Cost of study : Being an OBC my fee is around 45k, open students have fee around 85k and SC/ST have fee around 4k. I get government scholarship named "Tuition and Examination Fee for OBC students", as names suggest Tuition and Examination fee is sponsored by government of Maharashtra for OBC students. When it comes to cost of living : If you stay in college hostel it will cost you around 18k per year for your hostel room which you will be sharing with 3 other roommates and around 22k per year for mess. If you live outside campus it will cost you a minimum of 18k , I pay around 24k/year which includes electricity bill and society maintenance charge. Mess charges varies from 1800 per month to 2400 per month depends on which mess you prefer. I got placed in two companies : Birlasoft with a package of 3.6 LPA Larsen and Turbo Infotech with a package of 5 LPA I also bagged an internship at Cadence with a stipend of 15k

Campus Life

4.5

The best part about WCE is it has gazillion clubs, In my first year I attended club service of almost every club be it technical or non technical. In my final I was Vice president of ELESA (Electronics Engineering Students' Association) Technical clubs : WLUG (Walchand Linux users Group) and WCE ACM Non- Technical clubs : ROTARACT club (a part of Rotary International), PACE(Personality Advancement Circle of Engineers), SOFTA(for local Students) and ART Circle(Dance, drama, Music etc) Departmental Clubs: ELESA(Electronics), EESA(Electrical), CESA(civil), MESA(Mechanical),ACSES(Computer Science) and SAIT(Information Technology) Every club has its mega event which has a footfall ranging between 800 to 5000 College also has its National Technical Symposium that is : VISION which has footfall upto 10000 There is Sport Event WEST which consists of 24+ sports both indoors and outdoors Last but not the least WCE has a world class library !
