Remarks
It seems to me that the college's management is corrupt but I don't know the real picture.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was nice, I enjoyed 1st year and from 2nd year my curriculum was course specific. There were 3 different lab periods in a week which were 3 hrs long. Some equipment were fun to experiment with and some were not in proper condition and the lectures were also okay. There was a need for attending the lectures as there was 75% attendance criteria. Library facility was nice, I used to borrow a lot of books. Industry specific knowledge was not the aim of teaching and only 2 industrial visits were organised in my course of 4 years of engineering. So, it was bit difficult for me to crack the placements but yeah, I got placed.
Placement Experience
Placements are not up to the mark. The computer science engineering and, electronics and communication engineering students were first to get placements and almost 90% of them got placed. But apart from these 2 branches the placement scenerio was not so good. Approximately 50-60% students get placed in other branches. The institute although creates a separate placement drive, take initiatives in training them with aptitude, logical reasoning and verbal by creating mock tests. But the profeesors of my branch didn't much supported our placements. They were more engaged in maintaining their curriculum.
College Events
There are technical festival, cultural festivals, celebration on Diwali, Holi, Republic day, independence day, etc. The biggest event that college arranges is annual Cultural festival, Blitzschlag. It is generally 3 day event with cultural nights, fashion show, celebrity night, dance competition and more fun activities.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees structure depends on the annual family income and also on the caste. If you're SC/ST, you'll need not to worry much about fees. You can apply for various Rajasthan govt. driven scholarships for all, and on the basis of your financial condition you can avail them. Fees is expensive for those whose annual family income is greater than 5 LPA and is a general category.
Fees and Financial Aid
I availed for a education loan from SBI bank. Although there are scholarship facilities but they are mostly for SC/ST and students whose family income is less than 1 lakh. There us a section of Student welfare in the college that supports students to avail scholarships.
Campus Life
Campus life is amazing. The campus is very big and it's geographic location is also good. It is situated in one of the finest parts of city and there is a lot to explore. Gender ratio is around 1:5 ( Boy:Girl ). The sports facilities are available, there is gymnasium, basketball and tennis court, football and cricket ground.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, there is hostel facility inside the campus and it's nice. Each year we need to change our hostel and shift to another. There are a total of 9 boys hostel and 4 girls hostel. Each hostel is equipped with a mess, wify or LAN facility, and a single room ( except first year in which students had to share their room with 2 other students ). Hostel life is nice, there are no restrictions for boys to leave or come to hostel on time but for girls there us a limit.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, there is a separate association of alumni. And they do help a lot to college. Seniors are also very friendly and eager to help. Talking about Alumni, there is an annual alumni meet in which we got to interact with them.
Admission
The entrance exam required to get into the college I studied in is Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) - MAINS. I secured AIR 15191 in general category and based on this I applied for several colleges. The entrance to a college and the department depends on your rank. I had to make a list of colleges with specific branches and lock this list on the Joint Seat Allocation Authority 2016 (JoSSA) website. And this way my college allocation procedure begun. In first round, on basis of my rank and the list I uploaded, I got IT branch in IIIT Vadodara. Now there were 3 options, FREEZE (to confirm my seat in this college with IT branch), SLIDE (accept the offered seat and indicate that, if admission to an academic program of better / higher preference is offered within the same Institute, they will accept it) and FLOAT (to leave this college and look for other colleges according to my preferences in the list). I selected FLOAT, and this process continued until 5th round in which I finally secured a seat in MNIT, Jaipur with chemical engineering branch. The admission process was not much of a mess, I reached the college with all required documents and submitted them, there were a couple of forms I needed to fill and pay the entrance fees along with 1st semester fees and after a day, I was allocated my hostel and my curriculum started.
Faculty
Some of the faculty was really dedicated but most of them just came to class and shared their notes or presentations. Although the books suggested by them really helped me get through. There were a total of 47-50 subjects in my course of 4 years, 5-6 subjects in each semester and each course were given 3-4 hrs each week. There were no relevant industry experience related to courses as I already mentioned.
