Remarks
The management is pathetic. They never admit their mistakes and make a scene for every small thing. They made me write a letter for wearing jeans during a practical exams(not so practical though) and I got late for the exam. They changed my batch without informing me and I reached 2hrs late for a 3hr exam without giving extra time. I suggest any aspiring students to keep this college as your last option.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is mostly theory based. It relies on rote learning for 90% of the curriculum. Even the so called "practical component" of joint subjects, where 50% weightage is for practical and theory, theory tests are taken. You can pass and get a perfect score in all your exams just by blindly memorizing the notes given by faculties. No practical knowledge imparted.
Placement Experience
Placements are average. I have just entered 3rd year. No internships provided by college, you have to get them on your own. There's a placement event held each year at the main campus in Kattankulathur so we will have to travel more than 20km for attending it. I think the highest package recieved is 35LPA, not sure. However that's a rare exception. The norm would be an average package for TCS/infosys. That's where most students get placed.
College Events
There are a few events but we only use it to bunk college by getting OD letter. The events are not worth attending. The annual day is the only day when we actually have fun. Don't expect any big events while in this college. There are also a few cultural event where they take attendance to make sure people attend.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for my course is 2 lakhs a year. They accept online payment, and DD. You pay a non-refundable amount of Rs 10000 before counselling. This is very expensive considering the small campus and very little facilities provided. Not worth it. you won't get your paid amount worth here.
Fees and Financial Aid
I haven't taken any loan or scholarship. The college offers scholarships to those who get a very high rank in the entrance exam.
Campus Life
Campus life is not good. Just study and go home. An occasional event in college where students just bunk and go outside campus to hang out. The college is very conservative. In second year they made boys and girls in our class sit separately. No discrimination as far as I have seen. You are not allowed to wear round neck T-shirts in the campus.
Hostel Facilities
I am a day scholar, so I don't use hostel. I heard from friends that the hostel is not good and they prefer to stay in rented apartments at a lesser cost and better facilities from 2nd year onward. The food is average and a basic standard of living can be expected.
Alumni/Alumna
Very little alumni network. I haven't interacted with any alumni yet. I don't even know the names of any passed out student.
Admission
I wrote the SRMJEE and got decent rank. The admission process is simple. I chose this college as it is in the city and accessible from my house. Once your rank is announced, they call you for counselling and you choose a seat in a course depending on availability.
Faculty
The faculty is below par, except for a handful. Most faculty have an Mtech or MSc is local colleges. However that shouldn't be way to judge them. Most faculties don't even take the effort to make the subject interesting. They just teach through the topics by copying down notes on the blackboard. The students study on their own.
