Tanay Goyal's Review On Hansraj College - [HRC], New Delhi

Breif and Crisp: Why I opted for History was because of two reasons: a, I absolutely love it and I want to do something for this subject. b, To understand the present, one has to understand the past, in order to figure out the future. Faculty of my college is the second best in the North India. It is old, experienced and open to new ideas. It is not communist but is neither capitalist. So, staying in the grey was the way of life in Hansraj History Department for me. My college has various opportunities for everyone. It has had a distinguished alumni and various avenues for my interests like debating and football.

Ultimately updated syllabus, right from 3000 years old documents to publications of last year are incorporated. Faculty encouraged us everytime to do internships, gave us LoRs and taught us how to go about Masters and future plans. Every month, we have a seminar or a workshop or a before Corona a Heritage Walk, so that the rigor of the subject remained and made us think about the classroom into the real world too.

Baine, E&Y, Mackenzie, and a lot of other big companies come and offer jobs. The process is neat and easy. The Placement cell makes everything easy for the applicants, guide them, and teach them too. Alumni network is not pretty good as far as placements are concerned. You have to go to them and ask for things they don't volunteer.

The Fests are the things about February and March. Entire Delhi University is bustling with events going on everday. As far as extra curricular activities are concerned, I am a member of my Debating Society of the College, and we participate in world-wide debate today, even in Corona time so now I leave it up to you to judge.

No Scholarship for me. My friends did avail, for OBC students there were some, in which the college took care of their tuition fee. Rest I don't know, As far as fellowships, no there isn't any.

The library is rich, it is Air conditioned along with heating systems because well, it's Delhi. Sports are moderate, but precisely Archery and Basketball is great and so is football. WiFi is there, and lab equipment is also up to mark of what an average human can expect.
