Remarks

It was ranked 1st in Calicut university at that time. College is well known for their academic results. College has good infrastructure, discipline and teaching is also good. Placements were also there.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is set by Calicut university. College does not have any role in it. Curriculum seems little outdated. But as a base, it serves well. Industrial exposure was there. But not up to the mark. Also college didn't pay much attention to improve students communication skill in English. Faculties were really great and their teaching too.

Placement Experience

I took electronics and communication as my specialization. In 2018, not even a single EC company visited our college. But in the case of other branches like CS, BM, etc. companies of respective branch visited them. In the case of BM, there were only 2 colleges inside Kerala with that specialization and Sahrdaya was one among them. So, obviously placements will come. College give most utmost importance to studies. They are not giving much importance for students placement, to improve their language and all. They try to increase their placement percentage by bringing call center companies for placement. Call center companies to an engineering college.

Campus life was dull. Its the most negative side that I felt about the college. College is very strict. Limited celebrations. High punishments and fine system is also there. Students were asked to pay 50 rupees as fine if they found that we were not following any law. Tech fest is there in the college. Each department will have separate events.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA
