Remarks

I finalized my admission in this college as soon as I received the call. I applied very late and had no expectations. but finally I received the call and on the very next day I visited college for further admission procedure.

Course Curriculum Overview

Teachers in our college are average, and the syllabus is good overall. Being an autonomous university, sometimes they don't come to class but teaches well. I am in the first year, and I am studying on my own because teachers appointed to us are not at all good. The course curriculum is relevant, but after getting placed, you have to go for one year training period to learn which is not taught in the university.

Course Fees: INR 130000 per year

Placement Experience

Aliah University is a state government controlled autonomous university in New Town West Bengal. Placements here are depended upon the students' talent. In our department, not more than 30-40% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered is up to 12-14 KLPA by Amazon, Byjus, Cognizant, etc. The lowest salary package offered is around 3.5 LPA. More than 90 companies visit here as on-campus and pool drive in which the top recruiters are Amazon, Cognizant, Infosys, IBM and Byjus.

College Events

The campus life in Aliah University is amazing. The student crowd is cooperative and energetic. There are several events organized in our college. The sports activities are also organised annually and rewards are given to the winners.

Campus Life

The infrastructure of our college is above-average and hygienic. Wi-Fi is available on the campus, and different labs are provided for different year students of CSE, M.Tech and PhD. The campus is anti-ragging. The hostel facility is not so good because the vacancy for students to stay in the hostel is not much available. Food served is not good. Sports facilities are below-average, but the medical facility is good.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
