Remarks

Jadavpur University is one of the premier institutes in India. Presently it has NIRF ranking 17th for Engineering. Jadavpur University offers one of the best placements scenario over India. Moreover the University being in the same city as mine, daily commutation is easy. Not the mention the wide campus with lot to greenary to enjoy.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is quite up to date and do prepare you for jobs. As anyone should know not all the faculty members are good as lecturers but indeed everyone of them is highly qualified and there are obviously many professors whom you have to love.

Course Fees: INR 4000 per year

Placement Experience

Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Texas instruments, Synonpys, Infosys, IBM, Larsen and toubro, Mentor graphics, Cirel systems, Mu sigma, TCS.

College Events

We have 12 official clubs in University namely Photography, Music. Quiz, Film, Drama, Art and literary, Mountaineering, Painting, Science, Chess, Environmental, Karate. In additional to this we have IEEE student body Ju press. Srijan our technical fest is organised every year and is quite popular. Sanskriti, our cultural fest is the longest cultural fest in eastern India.

Campus Life

Full wifi connectivity for students. We do have playground and gym. 5 canteens over the campus. Each department has their own library. Equipments are quite up to date. University has it's own sports team.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Review of Jadavpur University

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
