Learning and enjoyable environment.

College management was doing good. Only problem was the Hostel water which was salty and smelly for bathing and washing.

I got 224 rank in CEET which was state level entrance examination for Haryana. It is the one of the top most college in Haryana after NIT Kurukshetra. That what i was lokking for because YMCA was known for good placements.

Course curriculum was latest and updated one.Though it could have a latest high level language like: Java, DOT NET or Android as well. First year was common for all. Later on all computer science subjects like Digital Electronics, Compiler Design, C,c++ etc, Software engineering was introduced.So, overall good course structure. Last semester was training and i did training in the company and got the chance to work in a real project.

The last semester for us was reserved for internship. For our branch I.e. Computer Enginnering/ IT we have opportunity of few companies to get the internship. Some of companies who offered training were: HCL, ST microelectronics, TCS to few of the students. For others branches like Mechanical we do have few opportunities for internship as well: like Blue star, Daikin, Carrier etc. General stipend were on an average of 10-15k per month.

Placements were key factor while choosing this college: TCS & CTS offered 120+ students and HCL offered 6, ST microelecctronics offered job to 6-7 students. Package offered was from 3.15 to 5.00 Lac per annmum. Other than that there were few off campus opportunity was also provided like LNT, I-Flex, Nuclues.

YMCA has both Fest organized every year which includes the following events: Technical Cultural, Technical Events :- It includes the technical competitions like: Programming, gaming, Soduku compeition cultural Events: Its includes Music, Art competition etc.

Every year has two semester and fee was paid semester wise: semester 1: 25000/- approx, semester 2: 22000/- approx other than that Mess fees was 1100/- per month and hostel fees was 4-5k per semester. So, fees was affordable at that time and also for SC/ST and OBC student was facility of reimbursement as well.

Mess food was good and hostel room was also clean there were mostly three sharing rooms. But only problem was water we used for bath which was salty and smelly and sticky. Otherwise, Drinking water was clean and drinkable. PG average rate there were around 3-4k per month.

Seniors were really helpful in arranging you the books from library or any notes etc and also while campus placement they helped us a lot in guiding/preparing for the interviews.

In 6 month semester, we have two mid term examinations after every two months and a final examination and practical labs along with viva-vice. First mid term includes the syllabus of just two months but second mid term includes whole syllabus. Before the final exams we have final lab practicals along with viva-vice and followed by final examination.

As i got 224 rank in 2005 CEET entrance examination, easily in the first counselling i got IT branch but i was looking for CSE branch in the second counselling i got CSE branch. That what i was lokking for because YMCA was known for good placements. I got the letter of selection from the Counselling team and rest was an easy process.

Faculty member in the computer science department were all well educated and the lecture, practicals were delivered well on time and faculty member were really helpful in clearing queries/doubts and any project related queries.Moreover, all the lectures were delivered on time and quality content was major key.
