Remarks

Basically, I opted for this college is because I am pursuing chartered accountant which needs lots of studies and hard work. So, one cannot completely focus on the course while attending college on the daily basis for attendance and projects and as the college as per the university rule has to maintain records of 75% attendance of the students but no kind of any action is being taken for not attending the college and maintaining attendance. So we only need to go during the project submission and exam times. The admission process is very simple we just have to fill up the college form and if our names come up in merit list just by paying fees one can confirm his/her seat. Considering some negetive aspects then the first thing that comes up is charging of late fees in each and every matter not providing exact information as and when needed.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I choose the course named: Bachelor of commerce i.e B.com. because I am also doing a professional course and I need to be focused on that more than this. Talking about faculties of college, frankly speaking, I've not attended much lecturres but I have heard that facilities are good and also qualified: some are graduates while there are also chartered accountants. Their way of teaching may be enough good but I have not experienced it personally as I only visit the college during project and exam times. Speaking about exams there are generally two terms each year and exams are very easy to score and pass as the course curriculum is most of covered in professional courses and you just need to go through the text books.

Placement Experience

1

Students become eligible for campus placements only after completing the graduation, as currently, I'm in Sybcom I don't have much information regarding college placement and companies visiting. I have not heard that not much students are interested in taking placements through the college campus. Only 10-15% of the students may be getting jobs from the college placements. Talking about my plans after the degree currently, there are no such plans of continuing for Mcom as I'm pursuing professional course I need to be focused on that.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure depends on the course which he/she has selected as it varies from course to course. I do not have much idea of other courses but for bachelor of commerce i.e. B com for the first year it was something around 15000 and for the second year it is around 7000-10000. There may be some scholarship that college would be providing but personally, I have not heard about any scholarships given by the college neither ai have done any inquiry about it. Talking about campus placements I'm now in sy BCom I do not have much idea about it but through some friends and colleagues, I got to hear that campus placement is not that good compared to KC college, HR college, NM College.

Campus Life

2

As I was doing a professional course i.e. chartered accountant I have hardly gone to the college that is during project submission and exam times. Yes, there are many fests during an academic period which I come to know through college WhatsApp group. The person who is genuinely interested and who wants to take an active part in the fest is always welcomed. Talking about Library, there is a huge library college is providing with books in a number of thousands. One can also find the books of the courses he/she opts for. Speaking about amenities there is an Air conditioner in each and every classroom but air conditioners are on only in unaided section I don't know the reason but I was very frustrated hearing this plus there are no projectors in any classroom while benches are pretty good.

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
