Remarks
YMCA is right below Escorts Mujesar (violet line) metro station so it is extremely convenient to reach. I preferred this college over others because it has a good placement structure of about 10-12 lakh per annum. The girl's hostel is spacious, hygienic and the mess food is really good as the food ranges from idli, chole bhature, sandwich to aloo paratha. The university's clubs are it's essence and gives a full exposure to college life.
Course Curriculum Overview
For Electronics and Communication Engineering, the teachers are rather strict. The faculty-student ratio is 25:1 which is okay. Some teachers are friendly and understanding but most of the faculty is really strict. Exams are pretty easy if you study well throughout the semester and complete your assignments on time. Teachers being old still use their conventional ways of teaching which can be a source of a burden sometimes. Otherwise, all is well.
Internships Opportunities
Adobe comes for internships for girls. It gives a stipend of about 3 lakh for 6 months. Other companies come for an internship as well like IBM. Usually, students prefer off-campus internships but on-campus placements are also well known.
Placement Experience
Placements start from 7th sem itself. Airtel, Samsung, cognizant etc visit every year. Highest package last year was of 25 lakh per annum. 80% of Students get on-campus placements. Placements take place in a very smooth manner.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for the first semester was 42,000 Rs following 33000 for the next semester. Each year the fee reduces by a few thousand which is good. Scholarship opportunities are only provided for SC, ST, OBC and EWS students. Each semester the student topping his/her class gets a reward of 2500Rs. It is a very decent University considering the fee structure.
Campus Life
Elements Culmyca is the annual fest of YMCA conducted mid-March. There is an open library in the college which has course books as well as novels. Classrooms do not have ICR's or smart rooms in them and only have a whiteboard. Only a few classes have AC and the other classes get really hot during summers. The campus life is great as students often hang out at the cafe or Lal chowk. Sports like chess, basketball, football and badminton are often played at the university. The University is relatively small so there aren't many places to hang out in. The pages run by the University's cultural clubs are Ananya, the unparalleled, Vividha, the dramatics.
Hostel Facilities
There is 4 girls hostel for each year's students. There are 4 girls in one room. You have to buy the cooler on your own and give extra 500rs every month for it's working. The almirahs are big and there is a desk for every student. Only students who live 60kms away from the University get a hostel. You have to fill a form and provide details to get a room. The mess is good as the food ranges from idli, alu poori, chole bhature, macaroni to Alu paratha.
