Maharashtra State Board - 75% Choose commerce to get into finance. No interview process. The admission was on the basis of score in the board exam.
Course Curriculum Overview
Standard commerce course. However, Jai Hind college has reputation and stands out as a premier institute providing the commerce course in India. Its a standard course that I opted for however various specializations can be opted for. The reputation of the college and the association with it adds on to the CV.
Internships Opportunities
No internships for the standard commerce graduates. However , the college does provide campus placements which again is not very common for other commerce colleges.
Placement Experience
The college does provide campus placements which again is not very common for other commerce colleges. Not as effective as compared to a b-school. Had close to 50% placement for my batch, but then again it's best among other commerce colleges. The college invites some of the top corporates and accounting/ finance firms with an average package of 3-5 lakh per annum.
Exam Structure
Quarterly exams with final assessment during the end of the year. Practical assessment to help prepare for the board exams. Usual assessments and tests conducted by the faculty if required or requested. It was a mix between hectic and chilled out time.
Admission
No interview process. The admission was on the basis of score in the board exam. The form was available at the college and had to be duly filled with requested supporting documents. Post the submission within a week the college came out with its list of people admitted.
