Remarks
I think the college should put more emphasis on extracurricular activities so that more students can take part in it and enjoy their stay at college by taking a break from their tedious lifestyle. The college should work more on the infrastructure and they should consider the point of views and opinions of the students. Life outside the class should be as important as the life inside in it.
Entrance Preview
I gave the JEE MAINS 2015 examination and obtained a score of 58. I had been told by my relatives that it is a good college for engineering and is situated in the heart of Pune city.
Course Curriculum Overview
For the first year of every engineering student, they are taught the subjects of other branches also. This is done keeping in mind that an engineer should know at least a little about other branches of engineering too so that it may be helpful in certain situations. In this way all the students of first year have the same subjects.
Internships Opportunities
Yes our college has tie ups with many companies for internships. Many of our college seniors have applied for internships during their holidays and they advise us to do the same.
Placement Experience
I am still in the second year of my college but I do know about a few companies that visit our college campus. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Tata Technologies, Mahindra, L & T, Force Motors, Cognizant, IGATE, Capgemini, Suzlon visit the college campus for placements, guest lectures and project exhibitions.
College Events
There are 2 cultural events that happen in our college every year - Spandan and M-Pulse. Both these events are attended by many students from our college and from other colleges in Pune. There are also Art competitions especially during Ganesh Festival and Technical Events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for the college is around INR 94,000 per year. I think the fee structure is feasible considering all the facilities that the students need to be provided with. The fee structure is practical only if the college is good and provides all the good facilities to the students otherwise it is obviously expensive.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are applicable only for those students who belong to SC, ST and OBC categories. On an average around 20 students out of 100 get scholarships.
Campus Life
There are students from various states of India in our college and hence there is cultural diversity. The gender ratio is good and the campus life is vibrant. Often there are quiz competitions held in our colleges. Students are also encouraged to take part in sports competitions and are sometimes allowed to use the college ground and court for practice during college hours.
Hostel Facilities
Many of my friends live in the college hostel. The hostel is safe and secure. It is not included in the campus but is situated near the college campus at a walking distance. The mess food is good and hygienic there are plenty of clean bathrooms the rooms are spacious and clean.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network and senior students are very helpful. Many seminars are organized in which they share their own experiences with us and impart a great amount of knowledge.
Exam Structure
For the first year of our college the exam schedule was a bit hectic. Semesters were divided in three parts - phase I, phase II, and phase III. In phase I and II we had online exams for five subjects. For phase III there were theory exams for all the subjects. But even more hectic than the exam schedule were the assignments that we had to submit at the end of each phase.
Admission
I got admission in this college through the DTE Maharashtra CAP(Centralized Admission Process) Round. The next day after the allotment of colleges we were told to report at the alloted college. We had to submit documents such as Birth Certificate, 12th Marksheet, JEE Scorecard etc. After that we had to register online on the college website and then attend a meeting in the seminar hall where they gave us information about the college, its facilities and engineering.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is good the teachers teach well and are actually interested in helping the students to understand the concepts. They are open to clearing doubts of the students inside or outside the class. Sometimes during their free time they also teach the students separately if they haven't been able to understand something.
