Remarks

All in all, our college is pretty great when ranked with other colleges across Pune. No bad remarks as such in particular. I would recommend our college for any aspiring student who wants quality education from Pune.

Entrance Preview

I gave AIEEE, scored 135 in year 2009. With that I had also appeared for CET and scored 102 on the same. I was always passionate about being a mechanical engineer so choose Mechanical as my major.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Mechanical Engineering department at the Modern College of Engineering is one of the best in Pune and comes under the Pune University which is also considered as Oxford of the East. Getting in wasn't that easy and I was happy to secure a place at my college. We boast about the boiler at our college, Diesel Engine, Hardness testers, Gyroscopes and loads of other devices. The library is also equipped with great books.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, I heard many of my classmates got internships. They preferably got in the companies they did their final year projects on. So that was pretty cool for them.

Placement Experience

3.5

All the students who had distinction all over got jobs at many good companies like Fleetguard, etc. Students with first class all over also got some jobs but others had to find jobs on their own. So it was a bit difficult for me to get a job as I hadn't scored that well on my exams.

College Events

4

All festive occasions were celebrated all over our college. We also had other days like rose day, friendship day, Traditional day, Mismatch day, etc. I myself had got into Tech Spark and gave a detailed explanation on how a VCR runs. That was a great experience indeed.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was very affordable and on the lower than other colleges. While MIT charged anything from Rs. 80,000 to 90,000; our college charged less than 60,000 as overall yearly fees. Students from other backward castes had to pay only half the fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

I myself have no knowledge about this. But the fees wasnt that high so I dont think anyone got any loans for paying the fees.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio was pretty great compared to other colleges. Campus life was fun as well. About diversity, we had students from all over India, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. We also had many many extracurricular activities and sports competitions as well.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I was a localite so don't know much about hostel facility. But as far as my knowledge goes, our college had hostel for both boys and girls. Our college didn't have any mess as such but the canteen food was affordable and great. A wada pav costed only Rs. 10.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students were totally helpful. Be it academics or any other matter. They also helped other students with MS admissions as well.

Exam Structure

Its wasn't too hectic but not chilled out per see the labs conducted regular batches and gave loads of homework as well. It was indeed very informative for me on the long run as employer ask these type of question a lot. What more, we had enough time for our extra curricular activities as well.

Admission

The admission process was centralized and I got into the College that I had chose for. I got a seat at the Modern College of Engineering in the Mechanical department. Prior to this, I had to get the Domicile certificate of Maharashtra for getting admission. Other documents needed were score card, Caste Certificate, Certificate of Age, etc.

Faculty

4

The faculty at our college are very experienced and great at their work. I wont take any particular names but they are all very god at teaching their subjects. With that being said, the faculty are well disciplined and give personal attention to every student.
