It is considered one of the best colleges in Kolkata under Calcutta University. The admission process has now been simplified, provided it is a Government college. Some of the faculties are exceptional while others were average. Overall, it was a good experience being in this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
B.Com is one of the best courses considered for those who wish to pursue a career in accounting or finance. The course at Calcutta University is extensive. Hence it is lucrative enough for commerce students. The majority of the faculties were well qualified and versed in the concepts and gave ample attention to the students.
Placement Experience
In 2015, college still ran on a yearly basis. The companies started visiting the campus in the early third year. Many Companies Like TCS IPRO ICICI life insurance, Telekart, Indigo, etc visit the campus on a regular basis. The average CTC was 200000 PA. After completion of my degree, I went ahead to work for a private manufacturing company.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is extremely low as it is a Government-sponsored college. It is approx 10% of the cost of whatever the private institutes charge. The organization still offers a scholarship for those who can't afford the fees.
Campus Life
The campus is very lively and always jostling with students. The classrooms have ample space and proper lights. There is also a playground for the students where they can play football or cricket. There are also provisions for Indoor games such as TT and Carrom. The student's union every year conducts Hemfluence, the annual fest of HCC.
