Remarks

No comments about that, but I think they are doing a great job at what they do and overall, I think Cummins college is the best college for any women, especially from Pune. So many opportunities are hard to find in any other college.

Entrance Preview

I had taken both AIEEE and MH CET. They took me through the AIEEE score since they try to take as many maharashtra students as possible through the CET reserved seats. The cutoffs vary every year and now since the college is about to be autonomous, it will increase even more. I chose the college because a family friend had referred us to this college. They said the placements are better (and they indeed were) and the faculty is very knowledgeable. They also said it is the best one in pune for computer engineering (and it indeed is). I hence opted for this college. Admissions happen through the normal CAP rounds, just like for any other college in Pune university.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum was absolutely great. I think no other college provides such an updated and advanced course syllabus. Although at times I felt it was way too vast for the duration of the course, but every subject provided a gist of the latest technologies in that area so now we have an idea of where we want to go in depth. The focus on research is decent. It is inclusive in the third year mini project and the fourth year project. Although I feel it will be even better now after the college becomes autonomous. On a scale of 1-10 I would give a rating of 8.5 to the curriculum overall, for computer engineering.

Internships Opportunities

In our batch we couldn't get internships from the college, but we applied ourselves and many of us had gone out for internships. But a sad part was, that we weren't allowed to work on it more than a week or two after the vacation ends. And in pune university, the vacations after a semester are hardly 15 days. So we had to look for companies that provide internship for a little less than a month. And that is hard to find, especially for computer engineers. But after our batch, the next year our college started providing internships through tie ups with companies so the 1 month internships were possible. Now that the college is becoming autonomous, the duration of the vacations will be increased and students will have better internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

5

Placements are the best in pune. This year we had around 90% placements. Rohini ma'am has wonderful relations with a lot of companies and manages to get the best of the best to our college. We have a huge number of companies visiting us every year, like Adobe, Microsoft, Google, Master Card, Cisco, Morgan Stanley, HSBC, etc. The highest package in my batch was Adobe with 20 lacs per annum.

College Events

5

We have a large number of events in the college. The tech fest is called "Innovation", and the cultural fest is "Gandhaar". These are the major ones, but each and every festival is celebrated by us girls in a very amazing manner. Including dahi handi! The participation is always the maximum and we have got such an enthusiastic crowd. People from all over the state come to the fests and some from even outside the state.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is decent. Around 1 lac for an open category student and 10,000 for the category students. This is affordable by many students. Since it is a private college, the fees is more than what a government college would have, but in all I think it is fine. Although, the donation seats cost more than this, but in general it is okay.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships available for people in need. There are notices put up on the notice board, a lot of them, we need to keep an eye on the notice board for all announcements. There are no loans available as such. The downside is, most of the scholarships are for people in categories, the ones for open category people are quite less.

Campus Life

4.5

Since it is a women's college, no question of diversity. There is a lot of focus on women empowerment and the opportunities for women are great. Speaking about the activities, it is just excellent in that. Sports, dance, drama, singing, every thing you can think of, happens here. Our college has continuously won a lot of trophies for years, in street plays, sports, dramas, etc. The campus has every sort of club, tech, non tech, greenery initiatives, etc and a student can get involved in whatever she wishes for. The campus life overall is great.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are more than great. The hostel has a great campus with a lot of greenery and a beautiful place. It is so safe and secure too, the parents don't need to worry. There are gates and security guards. The hostel mess is decent, not too good, not too bad. The menu is always healthy and they have a meeting every Thursday so the students can suggest the menu. The food cooked is always pure veg, for dinner and lunch. In the morning and evening we have snacks and juices available and a variety of food too. Those include food containing egg too, but we have to buy that. The hostel fees includes only the lunch and dinner. The fees is around 60,000.

Alumni/Alumna

We have a group of alumni students and we are all well connected online. Also, the seniors are very helpful and they try their best to help out. There is an orientation of about 2 weeks for the first year students every year in which the seniors explain everything required for them to know. Including the club descriptions.

Exam Structure

We have two details of exams every semester. One happens somewhere around the middle of the semester and are "in-sems". And the second is around the end. The labs are great, the schedule for every class is prepared in a great manner, and it is neither too much nor too less, just appropriate. Sometimes it became hectic when we had two labs continuously, but it was great otherwise. And we are given appropriate attention in the labs and the teaching is also great.

Faculty

4

The faculty is knowledgeable and capable. All the professors work their level best to teach the students the concepts. They work hard for us, which is not found in many other colleges. For example, in 2012 our batch was the first one with a new syllabus, and even though the professors themselves didn't know some of the topics, they worked hard day and night to teach themselves first, so they are able to teach us efficiently. A similar situation with the mathematical models, our college had the best ones among other colleges in pune. The programs in the laboratories were also dome appropriately without any shortcuts or manipulations. The teachers researched on the internet and came up with solutions for us. In all, I think we had very hard working and great teachers. Some of them might be not up to the mark, but overall the set was great.

Once student get placement offer from one company that student is not allowed to apply next company which package is near to previous company. Placement in Kit college in my year is 70 to 75%. The unplaced students have decided to go for MS.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
