Remarks

I choose this college as I'm intested in coding. Sit has BCA with very good teacher and facility as well as it was good and nearest to my hometown. It was suggested by my cousin who stay in this very locality.

Before being the student of SIT I had heard many good as well as bad comments about this college. Later my cousin suggested me this college as her friends were studying hear. According to her it was a goos college. After admitting myself in this college I really feel it as a good college It had the cousre which I wished to join. It has good teachers non teachings staff. A good faculty.

Placement Experience

I started my college in the month of June 2019. We had just finished our 1st sem and were about to begin 2nd then the pandemic started. Regarding the placements I have no much idea. According to me student should be perfect in the particular course he/she is doing apart from college degree he/she must do extra course to be eligible. Company picks students not who get full GPA but those who have quality.

Life in my college campus is quite good. There are various curricular activitie. We celebrate different cultural functions as well as programs are held like tech feast etc. Apart from studies there are many function according mostly monthly there are quiz completions; sports. In the month of March college helds grand feast which include many completetions like sports,dance, quiz,tech feast, Bollywood night etc

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I got TFW quota in this college from WBJEE Counselling, so for this the total fees for me is 1/8th of the fees paid by other, who take admission through Direct or with WBJEE Counselling itself. So return of investment is very good for me. And another reason is Place. You're in north side, from where Darjeeling (The Queen of Hills) is about 60-70 km.
