Just the right one

The campus is very beautiful. The environment here is peaceful and soothing. This year collge ranking has been a big issue. But we all are working to get to root of it and we will sure shine next year. Also these rankings doesn't reflect the actual status of college there are many factors where it can go wrong.

Course Curriculum is a matter of debate of almost every Indian college. There is not a single one to call their course near to perfect. Our institute is no exception. By contrast it is still relevant and well into research. A lot work must be done to make it a very good course. Teaching is somewhat better than the course itself. And yes it helps a lot to grab nice opportunities. But as an engineering student a large part must be done by ourselves. On campus placement percentage is okay but better companies are scarce because of transportation. But many students mange to get very nice off campus placement.

On campus placement percentage is really nice. Samsung, Amazon, L&T, Byjus, Stripe, Adobe, Facebook and many other company picked the students last year. Off campus placements are even better but percentage is lower. There is a placement cell in our institute that keeps track of all placement activities. At an average more than 90 % of students are placed. Training is given by the institute to students.

Hillf'fair - Curtural festival celebrated in month of October during Odd semester. NIMBUS - Technical festival celebrated in month of March during Even Semester. There are lot other activities, workshops and talks organized all around the year in the institute and almost every month we have something to participate.

There are multiple courses in our Institute. Fees varies by course.In general we have the following fee structure:- B.Tech, B.Tech+M.Tech, B.Arch - 1.46 lakhs MBA, M.Tech, M.Arch - 94 thousands MSc - 39 thousands Fee can be paid online as well as by demand draft. One can also deposit directly from the SBI branch inside the institute.

I have not opted for any loans so far. But if needed one can get both scholarship and loans feom the institute. Mostly scholarship are provided to Himachali Students by their government. Other students may get by several scholarship program running inside the college.

Gender ratios in engineering colleges has never been good. Still our institute manages the gender ratio. Student come here from all parts of country and many foreign countries. There are lots of clubs and societies to choose from. Some of the notable are SRIJAN - college magazine society, CSEC - computer science society, Robotics, Dance, Vibhav, Music, Elsoc, D & D, SPIC MACAY, App team, Exe, Prayas and many more. There have never been noticable issues about gender, ethnicity, race, religion or political inside our institute. Himachali locals are nice and helpful. There is a nice playground and another activity center is in construction.

Hostel is near compulsory for almost every student except PhDs maybe. Mess and hostel charges from 20 to 25 thousands per semester for every student. Rooms are spacious and well furnished (A single bed, An almeera and a Table at least for every student). The fee includes the charges for fooding, room rent, cleanings, high speed internet and other facilities like electricity and water. Food is better than average. Food menu is decided by college and student representative for every hostel. There are 4 girls and 7 boys hostel. Many hostels also have badminton court, table tennis and a Gymnasium.

Alumni network is quite strong here. And we get a lot of help from them. They even help with college matters. They are all active and available.

JEE MAIN- You must get a decent score to be able to get selected in this institute. Generally Admission starts in month of July. There are lots of steps. First verification at local level then finally inside the institute. lots of paperwork too. Preparation starts just after the result of JEE ADVANCED. This place is peaceful and beautiful. People are nice here. I was interested in Computer Science since childhood. That is why I opted for it.

At an average faculties are well qualified and have nice teaching methods. Most of them were research student in past so they hold good share of knowledge. But still there is scope of improvement. Being well qualified many of them are not up to date with current technologies and research. This may be because they are forced to teach outdated and irrelevant course.
