Remarks

I was not selected in any other college. This was my last option but honestly I don't regret it. The college is good and provides you with opportunities. It depends on you whether you grab them or not. The admission process was completely online along with payment of fees. Only for document verification we had to visit the college. One bad or good (depends on how you perceive it) aspect of the college is they don't have any hostel facilities so you have to look for PG or rent a house/flat.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because of my interest in literature. Though student is to teacher ratio is less, as there are over a 100 students in one section, quality of teaching is good. Term exams were postponed due to COVID-19 crisis. However, term exam for semester 2 will be conducted online next month.

Placement Experience

So far BESC has high placement records. The placement cell draws 35 to 40 companies with the likes of ITC, HDFC Bank, Delloitte, KPMG. Times 2019 ranked the college 11 for BBA placements. The median package in 3LPA.

College Events

Our college is best known in Kolkata for its annual fest - Umang. It is celebrated in December. It boasts of bringing many famous personalities every year. All colleges of Kolkata take part in this fest. The classrooms are all smart class equipped. The college also celebrates sports day and any student can qualify and take part in it. Various extracurricular activities are supported by all departments. The college also actively takes part in Model United Nations.

Campus Life

Campus is not much big but still it has a basketball court and a sports arena with games like chess, table tennis, billiards, a well equipped library with books on various subjects by various authors. One can also access jstor through the library computer. The science department also has well equipped labs.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I applied to scottish church, jaipuria college and goenka college of commerce Got confirmed from the first two but bhawanipur had the best discipline , teacherd and a smooth easy process and the best campus.it has a ragging free enviroment which is best for me .
