Anonymous's Review On Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College - [BCREC], Durgapur

I pursued electrical engineering because I'm interested in pursuing it. In my class section there are 52 students and in total there are 115 students. There are two sections in electrical engineering.Most of a professors has good qualifications. Most of them have completed Masters and PHD. Their communication skills are good. They also guide us for improving our communication skills and team management also for building confidence in life. Our teacher always give live examples for explaining the topics that they are teaching.We have two internal examinations in each semester which includes practicals as well. And at the end of the semester we have our final semester examination. Question paper toughness is moderate and sometimes lengthy.I have scored 10 SGPA in my last semester examination and my YGPA was 9.1.

Mainly students get eligible for campus placements from 7th semester onwards. Highly ranked and reputed companies come for recruiting students from our college. The highest package till now is around 15 lakhs and average package is around 3.5 lakhs to 6 lakhs. Almost 95% students get their placements in reputed companies.

The campus life is pretty good. I have met many friends and seniors and now we are having a good bond with them. The name of the last annual tech fest was Horizon 2020. It is mostly conducted in the month of February. Almost 90% students take part in it. The college announces cash prize to the winners. We have a big Library and Book Bank in our college campus. The library provides all kind of books to us. The Book Bank mainly provides the course book that are required for our respective courses.Our classrooms are big and in every class there is digital education facility. We have separate labs for experimenting the practicals. All kind of experiments and research can be done in them. Teachers support us for research purpose too.

Fees hike are affordable. Hostel fees are a bit costly but the food quality is great. My college approves many scholarships and financial assistance also highly named companies come for recruiting students. Like TCS, Vipro, L&T, etc.

We have separate hostels for both boys and girls. Hostel rooms are not too big but can be adjustable. We are given lockers for the safety of our products and items. We have beds and study tables for each rooms. We have a big dining hall for having food. Free Wi-Fi available in each hostels. Bathrooms are well maintained and there is no compromise in cleanliness. We have a play room on the top floor of the hostel building. Games like table tennis, carrom, chess and many more are there for entertainment purpose. We also have a large TV for watching movies, serials, sports etc. Food quality is good and there is no compromise in quality of food. We get options for both veg and non veg as referred by students.
