Remarks
XIMB HR or School of Human Resources Management is the name of the school for the MBA-HRM course. Legacy recruiters like Tata Steel, Deloitte, ITC etc regularly come for recruiting. The average for batch hovers around 11 to 12 lakh pa for the year 2020. The admission process is through cat, xat, xgmt and gmat scores, followed by a WAT, GD and PI process for shortlisted candidates. Cut off scores for entrance examinations generally ranges between 85 to 90 for CAT and XAT.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I have a knack for HR and wanted to venture into this domain. Since I did not make it through XLRI HR, this was the second best option I had at hand. The Faculty-student ratio is 1:30 A lot of visiting faculties from XLRI, MDI Gurgaon etc come to teach important HR subjects.
Internships Opportunities
A lot of legacy recruiters and new companies come for placement with various HR roles like L and D, Talent acquisition, organization development, organization restructure, generalist etc. Stipend ranges from 20 k to 1.5 lakh per month.
Placement Experience
Placement s are provided for all students unless signed out for some reasons. Summer placement s start from the 1st semester onwards, and finals from the 5th sem onwards. Around 40 companies come to recruit 120 from the HR batch.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost of the study is on the higher side, around 22 including food and accommodation. There are options to take up paid and unpaid live projects and assignments and Summer internship projects are paid. ROI wise if we judge, this may not be the best college for that
Hostel Facilities
Bed, cupboard and table and chair are provided in the room. Food inside the campus is overpriced. Healthy food options are few. The menu is manageable. Hostel availability is there but obviously costly for the facilities provided.
Interview Experience
There was a GD, Wat and PI for final selection after the initial shortlist through entrance exam scores. I prepared for the processes with IMS, took a couple of mock GDs and pi s, brushed up on current affairs and read the newspaper daily
