Sumit Kumar's Review On Cochin University Of Science And Technology, School Of Engineering -[SOE] Thrikkakara, Ernakulam

First of all, I am not much aware of engineering. So due to lack of preparation in jee, I went to this college. To be honest, this college has many more branches but only a few that have good statuses like naval architecture, safety and fire, information technology and a little bit computer science. I opted here safety and fire. Totally new and the best thing is that only a few colleges offer this course in India. To know much about this branch and college then go on quora which describe this college in a good manner.

As earlier I said, this course is offered by only a few colleges so the competition is not much more. And placement is very good, even one can go for gulf country after completing this course. Here student-faculty ratio is appreciable. It around 16:70. Few teachers have high qualifications like phd., from the research field. And few are with M.tech. In each semester there is two mid sem which held just after completing 4 modules. Terms covered timely by the faculty. And after mid-sem, there is the end sem exam. Exams are not much difficult. One can prepare for the exam 7 to 10 days earlier.

Students after completion of the 6th semester become eligible for PPO. And campus placement starts from the 7th semester. A company like Vedanta, KEC, Chola MS, L&T, Bpcl, Gail, Reliance, etc visits for placement. Last year the highest package was 17.5lac and the lowest was 4.5 lac. The placement percent is about 80-90%. My plan after degree is to be a HSE manager.

The fee structure of this college is decent. There are many concessions in fees for SC/ST students and for students of Jammu, there is no fee for them. They even can join without any entrance exam. Now about the scholarship, it is provided by college authority to students according to their consecutive three-semester marks. The scholarship amount will be approx 10k.

Campus life is awesome for those who like to explore. Because there are lot more things to visit. And most important is the nature-friendly concept of college. An annual fest like Dhishana held once in a year. And a few small fests are also celebrated. There are two libraries for students. All the books are available for every student. Daily uses things can be purchase from student amenities. And there is three badminton court, basketball court, cricket, and football ground, and gym is also there. Clubs like robotics club, team horizon, Seds.
