My college experience

CIEM is a good private engineering college in West Bengal. It's one of the top colleges in Eastern India for CSE/IT or ECE Stream. If you closely follow the opening rank and closing rank of WBJEE, you can see CIEM’s CSE Closing rank is around 20000(tentatively, after 3rd round of counselling). You have to get within 20k rank in WBJEE to study here(CSE, ECE, or IT). It's probably the oldest private engineering college in West Bengal. Recently in India Today Magazine, CIEM listed as one of the top 20 engineering colleges in Eastern India. Positive - The location is easily accessible both by bus or metro. The social life is decent. Negative - The management doesn't really care about the students. The teachers are keeping the college running. Student protests are common. For B.Tech program, candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board with PCM with an aggregate of at least 45% marks. Admission to B.Tech program will be granted based on the score obtained in WBJEE.

The focus of Computer Engineering is, particularly on computer hardware and software. Computer technology programs brace graduates for careers in a computer-related field. In this course, they also learn how computers are assembled.The faculty-student ratio is 1:24, faculty members are soo good. I like the computer and I wanted to know this subject thoroughly that's why I selected this course. In our Department, there are highly qualified faculties. The faculties are soo. The exam conducted in the college is very timely and it's quite difficult to pass.

Students become eligible after passing their final semester for the campus placement in this college. Companies that visit this college are mostly Indian small companies no multinational companies visit for the placement. It’s upon your self how you get the job. They will give you opportunities to get the job they will teach you everything that makes you best to get to a job, trust me you will get the job as soon as possible. Value-for-money. Around 3.5 lac per year. If I don't get to campus I will go off campus it will better for me.

The fee hike completely depends upon college administration keeping all factors in mind the fee structure for three years course is around 2 lakh. There is no such Scholarship in the college but one can apply for a National Scholarship or State Government Scholarship inside the college.

If you want your school life back then CIEM is perfect for you. All our friends will be in college and you will be in school wearing uniform going to college discipline no late comers morning assembly. Although you enjoy a lovely peer group and some good professors with whom u can interact freely. Also round the year programmes, good opportunity for projects development. Overall nice environment but too many restrictions, overall it is a good college with an excellent education. Teachers over here are very cooperative and experienced. I love my college and there are many types of sports conducted like cricket, football etc also having extra curricular activities.
