Review of a Techno Indian fresher

This college is one of the top private engineering colleges in WB after IEM & Heritage. It provides very good faculty members with all kinds of facilities. The most popular thing about this college that stands out from the other colleges is its fests. The largest fest of WB & the 2nd largest fest in eastern India is from our college. A lot of Bollywood & Tollywood singers & other celebrities attend our college fests. Students are given the opportunity to showcase their talents in almost every field. Talking about placements, one of the best quality placements from Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Wipro, etc. are provided here with a max package of 30LPA. But the only disadvantage about this college is that it just has an average campus area. Admission process is done in 3 ways:- 80% from wbjee, 10% from Jee mains & 10% from management quota. 60 seats are reserved for Diploma students through Jelet exams. I researched about this college from websites like collegedunia, careers360, quora, etc.

I'm very fond of Computer Science related studies. So during WBJEE counselling, I opted for BTech in Computer Science & BTech in IT in this college. So, I got a chance in BTech in the IT stream. Most of the streams have a capacity of a total of 180 students; some few streams have a capacity of 120 students. The faculty to student ratio would be somewhere near 1:20. All the faculty members are highly qualified; some have even degrees from top American & European universities. Detailed qualifications of faculty members can be checked from the official website of the college. 2-4 internal exams are taken every semester depending upon the situation and 1 external exam from MAKAUT (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology), with which this college is affiliated to. And it's not that tough to pass the exams; any student who focuses a little bit on studies would easily top in the department or even in the entire college.

Companies like Edlox, TCS, Deloitte, etc give internship opportunities to the students of our college. Being a fresher, I've don't have much idea about internship programmes in our college. But according to my seniors, good internships are provided to the students; some provide stipends & some don't.

From the 2nd last semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, etc. visit our college. TCS is the mass recruiter. Detailed information about the companies that visit our college & hire the no. of students is mentioned in the official website of our college. For a Btech student, the average package is 5 LPA and the highest package is 30 LPA. For a BCA student, the average package is 1.2 LPA and the highest package is 5-6 LPA. 80% of students get placed every year from our college. My plan after getting my BTech degree is to pursue an MTech degree.

For the BTech programme, the fees of this college for the entire 4 years is Rs. 4,83,800 for general candidates and half the amount for SC/ST and TFW students. No scholarship is given in this college. For any financial assistance, students have to talk in the administrative office of the college. Max package of 30LPA is provided to students during placements.

The college has several clubs which hosts a different type of extra-curricular activities in the college. GEEKONIX is the Tech club of the college that hosts one of the biggest tech fests of West Bengal; i.e. EDGE. SAMARITANS is the NSS club, A ANAKHRONOS is a Cultural club, SAMARTH is the civil service club and ECLECTICA is the literary club. Apart from these, there are a lot of other clubs like CUrBrain (coding club), InFocus(photography club), etc. All sort of books related to academics and competitive exams are available in our college library. The classrooms are huge, well-lighted, air-conditioned and provided with all the facilities like smartboard, individual desks, etc. There's a sports club named Tecnotkarsh, which gives opportunities to students to enhance their sporting skills. There are other clubs as well for students who like singing, dancing, art, etc.
