Remarks
The college was established in 1987 and has a rich alumni base, with alumni spread across all countries and successful entrepreneurs. The institute has reputed faculty members such as Prof. Banikanta Mishra and Prof. D.V Ramana, who have been associated with the institute since its initial days. It is centrally located in the city of Bhubaneswar, easily accessible. The campus is sprawling and has an old world charm to it. The admission process is based on shortlisting from CAT/XAT Scores followed by GD, WAT and PI.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is MBA and not just PGDM. The course is also not restricted to a domain from the first year itself. The faculty members in the areas of Finance and Marketing are good. The batch consists of roughly 360 students divided into 6 sections of approximately 60 each. The course is divided into 6 terms, 3 in each year.
Internships Opportunities
HSBC, L'oreal, Spencer's Retail, Boston Scientific, Becton Dickinson, ICICI, Deloitte, Lenskart. Most of the companies offer stipend equal to or more than 50,000 per month. The summer internship process is smooth and seamless.
Placement Experience
The summer internship process begins in the second month of the first year. The final placement starts in Term 5 of the second year. Companies such as ICICI, HSBC, Aditya Birla Capital, Morgan Stanley Capital Investment, BNY Melon, Nestle, L'oreal, Deloitte, Accenture, KPMG etc visit the campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are roughly 22 lacs. This excludes the mess fee, which is approximately 3000-4000 maximum every month. Other than this, any food and/or beverages served in the private eateries are pocket friendly.
Campus Life
The annual fest is Xpressions, which is a three days event. Other than this Maxinations, is an inter hostel competition, organised by the Marketing Association of XIM (MAXIM). There are several sports events organised throughout the year. Extracurriculars are given high importance at XIMB. Classrooms are spacious and fully air conditioned.
Hostel Facilities
Single, Double and triple sharing accommodation is available. Single rooms are spacious. Double rooms have attached bathroom with balcony. The hostels have a lift, fire extinguisher and security guards.
Interview Experience
The topic of GD and WAT were generic, and CAT preparation is enough for the same. The PI process included generic questions such as role model, strength & weakness. Few questions were on academic background and GK.
