Remarks
This college was totally within my CET score limits and also it had a reasonable fee structure. That's why I chose it. As compared to other colleges, PCCOE absolutely has no shortcomings. It is an autonomous institute permanently affiliated to SPPU (like COEP, etc). It's ranked in the top 50 in India among all private engineering institute. Every year around 300-400 students get placed through campus placement. It also has excellent academic records with toppers in SPPU coming from this college. PCCOE has good laboratories, workshops with up-to-date machines and tools, some even advanced like VMC. The teachers are dedicated and experienced in their respective domains. Coming to the admission process, the admission here is through entrance exams and management quota. Entrance exams that are considered are MH CET & JEE- Mains. Seats are alloted based on cut-off and merit list. After selection, you have to bring in the required documents and go through 6-7 steps for completing the admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am currently in Electronics and Telecommunication branch. I chose this curriculum because it has vast scope and application in the real world. Also, my passion for hardware is another factor behind choosing this curriculum. The faculty to students ratio in EnTC Department is around 1:6.5 and this is the same with all other departments in PCCOE. The faculty is really dedicated and hardworking. They are experienced in their own fields. Some have obtained a PhD and all are M.E. The main focus is given on practical teaching. Thorough preparations for exams are conducted. Lessons are taught with the view of industrial and real-life application. Also, some teacher teaches from GATE point of view. Whenever be the term exams, the faculty will be ready to support your preparations and throughout the exam. As my batch i.e. 2022 batch, is under SPPU, the exams are conducted according to their timetable and with timely efforts and preparations, it is simple to pass and score good marks.
Internships Opportunities
The internship is mostly off-campus. You have to find internship and apply for them on your own. Some companies, like Adobe, Bentley, Goldman Sachs, provide on-campus internships for Software Engineering with a stipend of 15000 to 26000 provided their criteria are met and you have performed well in their tests. It is mostly for CS/IT branch. For other branches, Paid internship is offered by the college in collaboration with other firms and institutions.
Placement Experience
PCCOE has one of the highest campus placements in Maharashtra and I can proudly say that. Students in Third Year 6th Sem onwards become eligible for the placements. Companies that visit our campus include Tata Motors, TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Infosys, IBM, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, Bentley, Samsung, Accenture, Amdocs, Sony, KPIT, Godrej and Boyce, SAE, Mahindra, MindTree, and many more. The highest package offered was 32 LPA by SAE India for an Automobile engineer profile. The highest for Software engineer is 12 LPA and the average is 5 LPA. The overall average package is 4 LPA for all profiles. Around 85% of students get placed every year. I plan to go for placement and a job in Embedded systems after the completion of my degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
As it is a private college, it will have a slightly higher fee structure but no worries as the scholarship opportunities save you from the fees. The annual college fees are around Rs. 1.20 lacs. You get various government and private scholarships and freeships which you can apply for. The college doesn't have its own scholarship. Scholarships like EBC, TFWS, Lila Poonawala, Cummins, Girlscript, IET, etc are provided. The admin staff is highly supportive during the entire scholarship process throughout the year. You can earn on campus by applying to the EARN AND LEARN scheme of the college, where you can work in the college offices after college hours. It provides an hourly stipend for the work done.
Campus Life
The best part of PCCOE is its plethora of clubs, & activities available for students. Extracurricular and sports activities are greatly encouraged and supported by the college. There are many clubs like Art circle, Coding club, Physics club, Maths club, Sports teams and clubs. Intercollegiate competition teams like SAE BAJA, SAE SUPRA, Robocon, SAE TIFAN, ESVC team, IIT BOMBAY e-Yantra team. Also a Google Developer Students Club is run by the students where tech enthusiasts can learn and arrange events related to it. Every year tech events are conducted. The two main events are SPEKTRUM and TECHNOFEST. Conducted in the month of January and March. It has 2 libraries and 1 Digital Library and a great range of books, journals, magazine. All the materials needed for exam preparation and everything. The college infrastructure is good. Classrooms are equipped with projectors, a sound system, good benches. WiFi facility is available throughout the campus. In short, campus life is wonderful.
