I gave JEE 2009 and scored 214 out of 480. I took IIT Kharagpur as my Bachelors of Technology college because it is the oldest IIT in India which is the trend setter in many field across India.
Course Curriculum Overview
When I talk about the IIT Kharagpur curriculum, I can proudly say it is one of the best curriculum (mining engineering) in India which in in line with many top universities of the world. It has world class level labs and teaching equipment.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, our college provide internship and also encourages us to go there learn and excel. After the internship, students are asked to give presentation so they can part their experience and learning to their batch mates as well as juniors.
Placement Experience
Job opportunities at IIT Kharagpur is quite good. Companies from each field comes to our college to recruit the most suitable candidates. During my placement time 1900 odd student registered for the placements and 1400 of them were placed in the first round and rest in the second round. We see all types of companies coming in for placements across all fields.
College Events
IIT Kharagpur celebrates numerous festivals across the years which help in building the overall personality of a student and also to give some time of enjoyment. Spring Fest: It is social and cultural fest of IIT Kharagpur which runs for four days. We see participant across india who come to take part in different events.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many scholarships that institute provide to students. Some are based on the merit whereas some are given to financially weak students. In order to facilitate his/her education expenses there are 2-3 banks in our campus which give loans to our students.
Exam Structure
Like any other college IIT Kharagpur has credit system. Each subject has three or four credits which means equal number of hours of classes in a week. Labs for most of the subjects are there. Each week we have 3-4 hours of lab which makes sure you get to learn how the things happen in actual life against what we learn on paper.
