Remarks
My college Netaji Subhas Engineering College is one of the best Engineering colleges in West Bengal. The college premises is beautiful having gardens and animals that helps in refreshing the mind of the students. It is a pioneer and self financed Engineering college. Around eight hundred successful engineers along with two hundred professional graduates every year out from this institution for serving the nation. The institute achieved its glory through the success story of its beloved students. Students are the primary stakeholders of an academic institution. The reputation of the institute depends solely on the behaviour and discipline of the students on the campus of NSEC. I have generally taken admission in this college because it is the only college that gives the prospect of studying Biomedical Engineering.
Course Curriculum Overview
All that a student generally wants is a stable and sure job after their degree. Therefore this is the reason I have chosen this stream of Biomedical Engineering. Being one of the two colleges having Biomedical Engineering and having strength and seat of just 30 students, there remains a 100% chance of placement of all. The faculty is very good. They are highly educated and most importantly they are very student friendly. They are extremely approachable and provides mental support in times of need. Our college generally falls under Makaut university. So basically if you are appearing for the semester exams and you are in the 1st year so then you need to follow the notes of teachers and organizers. And then from 2nd to 4th year blindly follow the teacher's notes (since no organizers are available for 2nd to 4th year of Biomed). Talking about difficulty, yeah I would not rate it as an easy one. It's a difficult course cause you need to learn both tech and bio stuff.
Internships Opportunities
Yes. They offer internship facilities and solely supports that. They also support good off-campus internship internships. Generally for Biomedical Engineering, you need to work in the hospitals where they would help you learn about the working of various machine that is needed in the hospitals, their mechanism and their workings.
Fees and Financial Aid
398000 is the total fees structure of the 4th years. Being one of the 2 colleges offering Biomedical Engineering and having a limited seat of 30 students (or maybe one or two more sometimes) it provides a stable and 100% placement to all the candidates.
Campus Life
Biomedical's conduct an annual fest named Sriti every year. This helps in meeting seniors and interactions with them helps in bringing various companies to the college offering jobs. (that is companies where the seniors are working.) Our college has a huge library. They are further divided into two parts. At one place you can issue books for studying. Another place is the online library. This is generally an Ac room with computers where you search for books and study online. It also contains a place where you can sit and study quietly. Our classroom is updated and runs along with the tech-oriented world. It consists of a smart board that helps the students in their reading and learning process. Sports and extracurricular activities are a part and parcel of our lives. NSEC has a huge field and a lot of sports takes place per year. Clubs, social groups such as Rotaract, Pankh and many others are present.
