Remarks

1 ) Most of them are ‘not so good’, firstly they don’t have good communication skills and also they lack technical expertise , I remember in first year a Prof. of Electrical Science, violated the law of conservation of energy!! trying to solve a simple problem. I took coaching in Delhi, and the difference in standard of teaching in the two places was quite apparent in first month of joining itself. But i have been led to believe that even IIT’s don’t have good faculties. Sure the professors have ‘so-called’ great accomplishments (Ph.D and stuff) but I personally don’t find sitting in most of the lectures much use full, (the standard of teaching is not very high), also in C lab we did nothing more than gcd, palindrome non-sense, and C++ was all about creating student employee class. On the other side, our Java Prof was quite enthusiastic about teaching and learning at the same time(that is really rare),his classes were quite interactive, also I would like to mention I haven’t met all Professors personally, but I would say from what I have experienced. The standards of faculties are simply aren't better that of any good private Engineering college. Overall - Faculties have good reputation, but are not rightly skilled to teach! (but exceptions exist every where).

Entrance Preview

KIITEE i scored around 3067 made a mistake of taking electrical as a major everyone reading this please make sure you go for only CSE as KIIT is famous for its CSE and the placements are damn good trust me been there seen that.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

The term often refers specifically to a planned sequence of instruction, or to a view of the student's experiences in terms of the educator's or school's instructional goals. In a 2003 study Reys, Reys, Lapan, Holliday and Wasman refer to curriculum as a set of learning goals articulated across grades that outline the intended mathematics content and process goals at particular points in time throughout the K–12 school program.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, Only free internships are provided by college that too u need to arrange the internship day will just give u a letter. For that also they will ask money .They basically want the students to do summer internship wherever they want so that they can earn money by putting you into some internship where you need to pay money instead of viceversa, Overall internships are a bad experience.try to arrange your own internships and do it properly because you will be getting grades on that too.

Placement Experience

3

Overall 80 percent placed.Only good companies come for CSE and IT.Companies like accenture, infosys, wipro and cognizant were the mass recruiter. Delooited, Musigma were some of the good companies. Others were mainly startups with meager salary while the current placement season is due to end soon, the placement performance has been at one of the outstanding in the KIIT. The total job offers received so far exceeds 4500 which is in itself an all time high in the history of KIIT. With the placement percentage touching 91% so far and as the placement process is still very much active, the university is merrily poised to post 100% placement by the end of the current academic session. Last year 3627 job offers were received for 2848 registered eligible students (from six schools of the university) for campus placement. It has been an unfailing legacy with KIIT University to post 100% placement.

College Events

Along with it for refreshment of students a Cafe Coffee Day outlet is also present inside the campus. Fee Structure And Facilities

For the 2011-15 batch the fee structure, including the hostel fee was 2.4lpa, which was divides into 55k per semester and 80k additional fee,the remaining being hostel and mess fee.The fee is unusually incremented every year, with the University citing weird reasons for the increment. Engineering from KIIT is one lavish affair. Edit- Now it's 1,10,000 per semester. And 17,500(non ac hostel) and 20,000 (mess) per semester. KIIT is a private university. So according to your question, its fee structure is a little high than the normal universities for B.Tech 4-year programme the total fees is 12.50 lakhs for more queries regarding fees or anything, please do visit the KIIT official site. You will get all ur answers.

Fees and Financial Aid

Banks such as SBI, willingly extend education loans for courses offered by autonomous bodies such asKIIT Education loans in India are granted for training courses, vocational courses, professional degree & diploma courses offered by colleges or universities approved by UGC/ AICTE/ Central Govt. aided & State govt. aided colleges. KIIT is also an autonomous institute. It should be in the approved list of institutes of several banks, however, you can learn for sure upon contacting the bank.

Campus Life

4

As an engineering student, the one thing that you can hopefully hope for is a good campus life. And kiit delivers on that front. The campus life at kiit is one of the most endearing aspects of the college. It rightfully boasts of a beautiful campus as long as you do not get in the way of the authorities. Amidst lush greenery and fancy footpaths, KIIT offers you evenings that you would most likely never forget. Within a few kilometres from the sea coast, the evening breeze after the sweltering afternoon Sun can be the best part of your day. The canteens are good, offer tasty and cheap food besides serving as an excellent spot to hangout. Hostels are comfortable, except the mess. You would be wasting your mess fee for all of those four years that you stay there, and there is really nothing that you can do about it, unless you opt not to live in the hostel. Restrictions are there in the first year. Entry timings are strictly imposed for both boys and girls. From second year onwards, the rules are relaxed for boys, but they are still strictly imposed for girls. Smoking and drinking is a norm and would happen around you in the boys' hostel unless they get caught. Hefty fines are imposed for offences as grave as alcohol consumption and as little as missing your classes. Though the latter happens only on surprise inspections. Basically there is price to be paid for every illegal luxury that you avail. So break the rules of you want to, but don't get caught. There are no restrictions on opposite gender interaction unless of course you're found snogging in public, which often happens. The locals and the staff might give you a disgusted look at times, even when you're quietly hanging out, but that's none of your business. What else Classes are air conditioned and so are the reading rooms and libraries. So there is comfort for the studious ones as well. Labs are really good, no matter which department you belong to. Pay your fee on time or there'll be fines. Classes are bunked often. But people are debarred from appearing in the exams in some departments due to low attendance. The KIIT road would be your daily recreational park. In short, KIIT has got the luxuries for the luxurious and serenity for the simple. It is an entire world in itself and you're a tiny little part of it.

Alumni/Alumna

Our KIIT Alumni are not only one of our important stakeholders but are also Brand Ambassadors for the future. That is why Hon'ble Founder has given the slogan"Strengthen Alumni and Strengthen KIIT" . Towards this end it has been decided to hold region-wise Alumni Meets for the next five years besides the Annual Alumni Meet held every year on 26th January at Bhubaneswar started since the year 2011. The KIIT Alumni Association has already been registered in the name and style 'KIITAA' under Society Registration Act with its office At/Po.: KIIT, Campus-13, Bhubaneswar-751024. An Alumni Cell at Campus-13 working 24X7 has been set up to look into alumni affairs. This cell is headed by the Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini, Director - Students Services who is supported by two staff for maintaining meaningful relationship with the members of the KIIT alumni and building their confidence.

Exam Structure

KIIT provides on-campus residential facilities to its students, research scholars, faculty members and many of its staff. Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini , a noted Social Scientist & writer is the Director of Student Se rvices. The students live in hostels throughout their stay in the KIIT, though its optional. There are in total 17 different hostels out of which six are for girls and rest are for boys. The boys' hostels are generally known as Kings Palace and girls' hostels are known as Queens Castle. Hostel rooms have 24 hours Wifi internet connections . Most of the rooms in the hostels are designed to accommodate three student per room. The hostels are provided with a common room with plasma screen television which also acts as place of interaction. There are different societies in KIIT University to choose from according to the interest and choice of the student. Some of the major societies of the college are Qutopia, the Quiz society; Kronicle, the Literary Society, the Social Responsibility Cell and Korus, the Music Society. Students from Kronicle have made a mark at various National and International Level students.Social Responsibility Cell aims at inculcating a sense of social responsibility in the hearts and minds of all the University students. The quiz society Qutopia[39] organizes a national level quiz competition, Udghosh every year.[40] The decenary edition of Udghosh was hosted by Vikram Joshi, winner of World Quizzing Championship. It also conducts an Intra-University Quiz competition "Launchpad" every year as a part of induction program. Qutopia is very well known in quizzing circles throughout the country and has produced quizzers who have not only conquered state and regional level quizzes, but also at national and international level, including the prestigious Tata Crucible Campus Quiz,[41] which is hosted by ace quizmaster Giri Balasubramanium.

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
