Remarks
NSEC is one of the most well-established colleges in Kolkata. I preferred it because it was close to my house and provided a quality education. The bad part is the unavailability of a full-time basketball court which surely was one of the points I considered. The admission process for me took about a month from the time results were declared for WBJEE. After successfully bagging a seat in this institution I had to pay a visit to the college for document verification and online filling of some necessary forms. The process of admission however went smooth and hassle-free. Availability of a bank within 10 yards of a college makes it much easier for fee payment and other money-related work like education loans. Like everyone else I too did my research before joining this institution and made sure it met each of all the primary points like good infrastructure, placement, and alumni association along with innovation labs and technical clubs. Collegeduniya also helped in this process.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose EIE for its prospects and how well I go with the current technical scenario like IoT. Faculty are well equipped with all the latest knowledge about the industry and also provide excellent guidance to one. Almost all of the faculty hold a PhD from renowned institutions like Jadavpur University. Internal exams take place twice a semester and marks are added in the final semester. Exams become somewhat easy to clear if one properly goes through the class notes.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placement from seventh sem onwards and placement aid is provided till 2 years after they graduate. Placement drives are very good for every branch as almost 5 core companies come every year for placement. Percentage of students placed vary in the range of 80-95
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no fee hike since I joined and the total cost to study for 4 years comes around 4,00,000. Full or half scholarships are provided to students with good academic backgrounds or having financial problems or having major medical needs. Option for TFW is also there for economically backward students in which case the total fees for four years stands only at 15-20k
Campus Life
Annual fest and tech fest takes place at a grand level and we can expect to see all sort of stars to be physically present on these days. Sports meet happens every year in the month of January and includes more than 10+ games.
