Remarks
For the good infrastructure of the stream and also the faculty. It is one of the only two colleges in West Bengal that provides the stream of biomedical engineering. Also, this stream is the fifth-best in the whole of India. The admission process is very easy and it occurs after the release of the score of the exam through which you might take admission. I directly contacted the college office and got to know about the college from friends and searched it over youtube and Google.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course because I was always aligned towards biology and do something different close to the field. The faculty to student ratio is about 1:3. The teachers are really qualified and deserving. They are very much knowledgeable and also helpful. There occurs two-semester a year and in between before every semester takes place two internal exams. Also, small tests and viva are regularly taken by the teachers.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the college offers internships. There is an on-campus compulsory internship in 4th year. But if you want to enhance your experience you can also do off-campus internships like in hospitals and industrial internships too.
Placement Experience
Well, renowned companies offer a job in this stream like Byju, TCS, Wipro, many hospital jobs and also service offers. However, it depends upon the student in which field they want to work and also if they are opting for higher studies. The highest package is 10 lakh/annum and the average is about 5 lakh/annum. About 95 % of students get placed. I personally don't want to do a job after graduation but will do higher study.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total cost to study is 4 lacs in the four-year course. However, there are various scholarships like there's the opportunity of joining the college through tfw rank for which your semester fee reduces to Rs.1250 from Rs.60,000. The college does not take the tuition fee.
Campus Life
Life on campus is very easy and supportive. Relation with seniors is also good. Most importantly the college is strictly against ragging and had taken a very strong step to fight it. So the college campus happens to be very safe. The annual fest is Mesmerizer and it happens in February. The annual tech fest is Avenir. There are many clubs like the social club, Rotaract club of NSEC and the tech club Phoenix.
