Remarks
With BIMTECH there was a possibility of attending the offline classes as I wanted to stay in the same town during COVID19 times. After attending the first and second trimesters in online mode, which was well-planned by the IT Department, we attended the third one in offline mode. The institute took good care in terms of maintaining all COVID precautions for teachers, students, and staff. The admission process is pretty simple. Fill in the application form costing Rs.2000, submit your entrance exam scores, appear fr WAT and PI. Results of your selection will be announced within two weeks. I was quite confident of my selection as I had done pretty well in my WAT. The topic of my WAT was 'IS social media an oxymoron' and my PI panel was lenient and asked me mainly about my previous works.
Course Curriculum Overview
Faculty: student ratio is 1:70. There are four sections for the PGDM program. Other courses are offered like PGDM in Retail management, insurance business management, and international business. The college has a trimester system and ends term exams after each trimester. There is a credit system based on the number of class hours - From 1.5 credits to 4 credits. Most courses are relevant and excellent according to industry standards. However, some seen to be obsolete. From supply chain to HR to marketing and accounting, all fundamental subjects are there in the first two semesters.
Placement Experience
There is a placement committee in charge of placements. Some of the recruiters are KPMG, Adani, Axis bank, SBI, Mazars, EY, Careers360, Bajaj Allianz, etc. The average package is decent around 8.5L. It may go upto 13 or even 15LPA. Summer internships are also fine. Students are prepared for the rounds beforehand.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee seems a bit overpriced. However, the hostel and mess are good and the fee is quite justified. The menu keeps changing so we don't get bored of the food. All activities like cricket, basketball, TT, gym, volleyball, etc are there inside. One can also pick up bicycles and roam around the campus. So that way, the fee is justified. Financial aid is provided to the ones who need it. The scholarship is provided every semester to the meritorious performers. Lots of on and off-campus internship opportunities are available for students of all specializations.
Campus Life
Life at the campus is good and relaxing. There is lots of open space and good infrastructure. Activities like TT, Volleyball, cricket, football, basketball, and gym are there. The library is well equipped with all books and journals. There are many clubs and conduits which are always buzzing with activity. Prize money and certificates are given to the winners of each event. It is fun to organize on the campus, although our batch mostly organized events online due to COVID19.
Hostel Facilities
PGDM at BIMTECH is a fully residential program. One has to stay in the hostel mandatorily. However, in covid times, we had the option of staying home but had to pay the fixed charges of the hostel. Meals are prepared in a carefully hygienic way. Rooms are on a single basis for girls and twin sharing for boys. Bathrooms are shared by four rooms. Laundry service is also there. The wardens and hostel rues are extremely strict to ensure safety.
Interview Experience
Written test took place in February 2020 for me. The topic was 'Is social media an oxymoron' and time given was 20 minutes. For personal interview, I was questioned about digital marketing, why MBA after my stream of graduation as I had pursued architecture earlier and other questions related to my workex. I didn't do any preparation as such but just went in confident. Usually the cutoff for CAT/XAT/CMAT is above 75 percentile for admission.
