Himanshu Ranjan's Review On Kamla Nehru Institute Of Technology - [KNIT], Sultanpur

KNIT was one of the best Government College of Uttar Pradesh and I guess presently still it was also the best Mechanical Branch across all northern college. I am the proud to be the student of KNIT college. Today I am who because of my college. Thanks to memorize my golden days of KNIT.

MNRE Exams rank Waiting 302 and my only preference was Computer Sc. and Engg and college should be near by my city so that I chose KNIT Sultanpur.

Course content was very good and according to AICTE guidelines.For total four years of course we covered almost all parts of computer engineering. In first year we had covered all engineering little bit subjects and later years we

KNIT had also provided scholarship to his best top 10 students in all respective engineering branches.There was no stipend at my time.

At my time around 30 students across all engineer branches were selected for campus placement like TCS,Infosys and HAL etc.Most of the company were conduct written exams followed by Interview and some time group discussion would also happened by top MNC.There was one policy for campus placement, if any student would select for campus , he would not be able to sit in next companay interview or written exams.

The most entertaining thing of engineering college was cultural or sporting activity during whole year.The best part was each engineering department had its own group of members whose organises the cultural,sport and quiz competitions the whole year. Specially my computer engineer there was CSI group who condcut lot of games of quiz and sports.

At my time there was very nominal fee around Rs 6000/- per semester and Rs 6000/- for Hostel and canteen charge.I guess the total expenses was happened during four years was Rs 100000/- inclusive of my personal expenditure. That time everything was less expensive infact we xerox full booked around Rs 100/-.

KNIT had provide scholarship of his top best students of each engineering departments.We were total around 130 students across all branches and each of engineering branches top 10 students would got scholarship.

KNIT campus was spread almost 100 acres and situated out skirt of Sultanpur District.The main city was around 5 km away from our main campus. The gender ratio was 80:20 means out of 100 students 80 were boys and rest 20 were girls.In the total faculty the female staff were almost nil. The library was excellent and most of spare time we spent there only.

The hostel facility of KNIT was fabulous. In first,second and third years I got triple bed room but in final year I got single bed room. that time I felt I was the king of any state.But bathroom was always share basis.Some times it would take to fresh out around one year. The mess facility was okay type food was okay but one Saturday we got special quality food. It was amazing. I also missed non veg food which we got Wednesday.

KNIT was established on 1978 by Congress government. I had clear my degree course during period 1995-1999 and 2000 we got our BTech degree in Computer Sc. and Engineering.Last year the alumni event was happened there unfortunate I could not be part of such a amazing alumni ceremony.

There were two main exams conducted during one year name as semester exams.I mean to say during four year course total eight semester was happened and in one semester there was one written exams and other was practical. In both exams we have to get score at least 66% to got First Division.

Faculty of Computer Sc and Engineer was okay but our HOD was great , he had a tremendous control over his subject.I would also share the faculty of Mechanical department was awesome and had best position across northern region colleges.Electronic and Electrical department was good and civil department HOD was fantastic and had a good knowledge of civil engineering.
