Remarks

HANSRAJ COLLEGE, DELHI UNIVERSITY time and again has gone out of its way to prove that it is righteous to call it one of the most premier institutes of the country. A college is not only supposed to be academically strong but should also fulfill aspects that will help widen our horizons. It is supposed to provide excellent exposure to students. Hansraj College with its amazing faculty, more than 15 societies, and excellent placement opportunities completes its part in all those aspects. I chose HANSRAJ because it was a part of my vision. I viewed aspects such as extra co-curricular activities, internships offered, class size, and lastly, placement opportunities, and HANSRAJ weighed more in all of them. Blogs I referred to while curating my very own pros and cons list were shiksha.com; college unit; quora.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Commerce was always a keen part of my life. Being born and brought up in a business family background, I always found interest in how businesses operated, how they were functioned and managed. This was primarily the reason I chose commerce with math for higher studies and also the reason I chose BACHELOR OF COMMERCE(HONOURS) as my field. B.com(honors) offers specialization in the field of numerous subjects, be it economics ( both micro and macro ), business management, communications, law, and many others. It makes one eligible for courses like C.A; C.S; I.C.W.A; M.B.A and the list goes on. The course is of 3 years spread over 6 semesters. The student-faculty ratio is approx 70:1 which might be a setback but the faculty makes sure of every student by giving as much individual attention as possible. I just got finished with my 1st-semester exams. The difficulty level of the accountancy exam was the highest and that of the other subjects was moderately difficult.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college offers various on-campus internships that one can apply from the internship cell of the college itself. One can apply for the same right from the first year of college. Many startup companies register themselves for the same. But there are big names like Bajaj capital and ICICI bank on the list too. One can apply for various job profiles like Marketing, Finance, Content Writing, etc.

Placement Experience

4

According to the official college reports the average package offered to the students is 6 lac per annum and the highest package offered to the students was 21 lac per annum. The recruiter's list could see big names like Bain & Co., Zomato, McKinsey & Company, Deshaw & Co., EY among many others. The students start applying for the placements around the 5th and 6th semesters. Many students also get Pre Placement Offers depending upon their performances in their internships. B.com (HONOURS) is a very diverse field, so after completing my Bachelor's degree I aspire to pursue Chartered Accountancy.

Fees and Financial Aid

HANSRAJ COLLEGE offers its courses at cheap rates as compared with many other institutions. With just around 20000 per year, students can get access to it its courses. Many students also apply for scholarships which can provide them with financial assistance and many students get 100% scholarships too.

Campus Life

5

Coronavirus has forced colleges of Delhi University to take classes on online platforms. But as far as campus life is concerned, HANSRAJ COLLEGE tops them all. From the Wall Of Fame to the Lover's Point, it has it all. One foot outside the campus and you would not be disappointed be it in terms of shopping, or cafes and a 100 other things. The library of the college consists of everything from a pin to an elephant and every student can access it. The availability of books is all the time. From Vanijya Utsav to Swaranjali music fest, students leave no stone unturned to make the experience feel anything short of a ball. The societies in the college help a student cultivate their skills. The students will find societies in every domain from music society to commerce society to strategy consulting society and many more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
