Remarks

As an ending note, I would like to say that it is an excellent place to spend 6 important years of your life. MBBS itself is a very liberating experience. And the college does it's best to support and guide you along the way. To try and make a good doctor out of you.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum can be described as rigorous at best. But I feel it is a necessity at the end of the day.You give a professional examination at the end of each year. The 1st year lasts for 13 months. The 2nd year for 15 monthsThe 3rd and 4th year each last for 13 months.Giving a total duration of 54 months (4.5 years). After this 1 year compulsory rotating internship. Each year also consists of 3 term examinations held in an uniform manner.

Placement Experience

5

The placements are excellent. Almost all students get placed (about 99%). The college internship is for a 1 year duration with a monthly stipend of about Rs. 30,000. Excellent place to be at. You also get to learn alot during this period.

College Events

IMPULSE - is an annual 4 day fest held in September.SARASWATI PUJAINDEPENCE DAYCOLLEGE FOUNDATION DAYMEDICO - A college party from the graduating Intern batch.ANASTOMOSES - Fresher's party for the 1st year hosted by the immediate seniors.DURGA PUJAANNUAL BATCH PICNIC - A mandatory tradition for each batch post professional examination.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is very very feasible. The entire academic fees (including tuiton and hostel fees) is about Rs. 4580 every 6 months. So Rs. 9160 every year. You need to add only food and books cost to this total as miscellaneous costs and you are set for the year.

Fees and Financial Aid

No loans required as the fees are nominal. The college helps it's students apply to different scholarship schemes which have a handsome payout such as the JBNSTS Scholarship Scheme. For any other scholarship schemes that the government provides you can always approach the student section for help. They are extremely helpful.

Campus Life

2.5

Compulsory once a week sports period helps us keep fit. Our college has an attached stadium inaugurated this year itself i.e. 2019 itself. The labs are as good as any other government medical college.

Alumni/Alumna

Extremely helpful seniors and knowledgeable and helpful current post graduate trainees. You get to learn a lot from them. You learn the most in the wards people say for the MBBS course. And your seniors don't disappoint. The college is also good in the fact that you get a myeariad cases each day showing newand interesting complications

Admission

You have to apply through an exam known as NEET (The National Eligibility come Entrance Test). Once you get a rank in the examination you can follow all the instructions listed on the wbuhs.com website and apply for the counseling process to get a prestigious seat at any government medical hospital. After getting an initial placement offer. You have to report to your alotted college within 3 days and get your documents verified. After successfully completing this step you get admitted into your college.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
