Remarks

Computer Engineering and Information Technology students have excellent placement opportunities. Highest package: 40 LPA. Median package: 13.5 LPA. Companies like Atlassian, Microsoft, VMware, Goldman Sachs, Nutanix, Amazon, Salesforce, Arcesium, D E Shaw, Schlumberger, etc. are among the top recruiters.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum is really good and is updated every 3/4 years. Faculties are very helpful and encourage students to solve tougher problems than what's expected from them. One con I can think of is that more focus is on marks, placements rather than research. Current TPO's performance is not satisfactory as compared to previous year's TPO.

Internships Opportunities

5

I did my internship in third year at Hexagon CCI, Hyderabad. I worked on an innovation project titled HR Chatbot. Other interns from my college worked on actual products of the company. I was 105 out of 120 students who got internship opportunities in that year. The first ones to get them enjoyed stipend of Rs. 1 lakh/month.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements were good but not as good as compared to last year (2019) because of 2 reasons. One being Covid 19 and the other being lack of efforts taken by the Training & Placement Cell. Placements were all time high till last year. Hopefully the placement cell will try to reach out to bigger companies rather than relying on mass recruiters to contact them.

College Events

Life can be amazing at campus if you like participating in clubs, events, etc. There are 35+ technical/non-technical clubs on almost all themes which you can think of. Still if you find something missing then you can create your own club. College events comprise of MindSpark(Tech), Zest(Sports), Impressions(Arts), Regatta(Boat Races), Annual Social Gathering and other small events hosted by different clubs/departments.

Fee Structure And Facilities

OBC students have to pay 50% fees as compared to general category whose yearly college fee is around 90k currently and is expected to increase at 10% pa. For SC fee is almost negligible. There are lot of scholarship programs which can help students to cover their college fees provided by companies like Schindler, Siemens, etc. If you are looking for software companies then there is no need to worry and you need to study very hard to grab the top packages. Placement is good for other branches also and companies like Mercedes, Rolls Royce visit campus to recruit Mechanical/Production Engineering students. In 2018, 271 companies visited campus.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels are liveable with yearly cost being 30k increasing at 10% pa. Mess facility is really good with different sections for veg/non-veg. Breakfast is served in the morning and evening with eggs daily. Eggs are offered in lunch/dinner 3 times a week. Chicken is offered on sundays. Ice-cream is offered twice a week. Sweets are offered daily. If you only eat lunch/dinner and skip breakfasts then you will be charged around Rs. 2200/- per month which is very affordable. Hostel blocks are quite old though renovation keeps happening. Girls hostel is 12-storeyed & far better than boys' hostel. Boys are expected to 2 large hostel blocks in a couple of years.
