Remarks

Techno International New Town has good campus with good transportation facilities and is located at the prime location of the city. The classroom are spacious with spacious labs. Electrical and electronics labs are well equipped and it has its own mechanical workshop arena. Canteen is good with cheap and hygienic food. Freshers and Fest programmes are organised by the college every year with sports tournament. Admission is basically through WBJEE and JEE mains rank but WBJEE score is must. Admission starts with the publication of WBJEE results and it is through counseling process mainly in the month of June to August. WBJEE exam is held in the month between March to May. It has its own website and its Facebook very much informative. For bad aspects, it's management is not supportive after you took admission. You have to be in a way long line to submit fees through Demand Draft, as it is the only mode accepted and they impose fine upto ä?_5000 for late fine, else you are not allowed to attend lab and mid term.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

Its quality of education is average or below average. Except some teachers, rest all are not much qualified to teach an engineering student. More focus are on attendance and not on quality. Marks are given as per your attendance no matter how good your exam was. Internal and practical marks are totally upon the teacher's wish. If you are your teacher's favourite, you will top in the college. A lot of fights took place in the college between students. Although Electrical engineering department has some good teachers which are way better than rest. Student to teacher ratio is 20:1. Passing exams are not big deal, you have to just solve previous year questions and assignment questions before going to exam and you will get good marks. Marking scheme in the university is biased in terms of local and outsiders and also in terms of female and male students. Female students will get good marks.

Internships Opportunities

5

For core branches like mine, college provide the training facility in 7th September. But I didn't did my training form college. I had done my training separately in Bokaro Steel Plant which is basically a steel plant situated at my home town by comapany called SAIL - Steel Authority of India Limited. You can do your training in any of the semester break after 4th semester. It was project training and is non stipend one. My project was to design the Motor control panel and Telpher panel. My task was to design the circuit and check it's operations.

Placement Experience

2

Jobs and placement will be entirely in private companies. No government company arrives. Average will be around 3 lacs per annum. Whether you are from core branches or non core, you have to work in IT companies. Now there will be only one or two companies coming for on campus placement in the college. Rest all will be off campus or pool campus only. No guidance will be provided by the college as how to crack the placements. On campus placement includes only 60 to 100 students getting job. Rest all go for off campus and pool campus which are organised by the college. Is you are unable to get a job then you could prepare for any competitive exams or can opt for masters via GATE and JRE.

College Events

Campus Life is calm and there is no ragging allowed in the campus. Laws and rules are against the Ragging in the campus. Even Intro will not be taken by senior. This change came after 2017 in the college after and incident which led to the huge fight in the campus. Library is huge but you will not find much standard books. Only local author's book are available. Library is spacious and the book is issued for entire semester as per library card.Classroom are big and spacious with good ventilation facilities. Also classrooms are hygienic and have smart board with projector.Freshers and Fest programmes( Both cultural and Technical fest) are organised by the college every year with sports tournament too. There are no clubs and no websites run by students except the one created during annual festival Yagvik and Fresher's welcome Aagman. College organise NSS camp every year which includes awareness of trafic rules or games and fun with physically challenged children.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee hike is not much and complete semester wise fee structure will be provided to the students during admission for their complete course. First year fees will be high around 45000. And it reduces by 1000 per year. Examination fees will be there which is about 200 which you have to pay in every semester for semester examination. Supplimentary examination fees are about 1000. Scholarship is provided to local, muslim and female candidates only by state government. I got the job in an IT software corporation called Capgemini as and analyst which was on campus boarding. It was the first and last company coming for on campus placement. The stipend was 3.8 lacs per annum.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Campus doesn't include its own hostel facility. Hostel is provided by some private means which is outside the campus of the college. Boys Hostel is at about 3km distance from college and girls hostel is about 8k from the college. State transport bus is available in every 15 minutes to reach to the college. Food quality is average and rooms are small but overall it is good. Direct admission is taken by contacting the warden of the hostel. It is not mandatory to reside in hostel. Various PG are also available within 10km range of college in New Town and Salt Lake.

Admission

You have to undergo a written exam called WBJEE, West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. It held every year. After giving the exam, you will get results and rank. Based upon that rank, college and course will be alloted via counseling. So being on rank below 8000 can provide you grade B and grade A colleges of west bengal.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
