Remarks

The admission is based on Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination.The rank is calculated 50% based on PCM score of plus exam and the remaining 50% is the score of the Entrance examination.My rank was 2358.I searched for the best colleges in kerala on Google and I got CET, trivandrum is top college, Second one is Government Engineering college Thrissur.My interest Course is Computer science and Engineering.So I understand with my rank I will get the Government Engineering college Thrissur.so I choose this College.For the admission process we need to submit our Plus two and 10th certificate, entrance rank list document,If you have any reservation submit necessary documents.First year Fee of ten thousand should be paid at the time of admission.

I have a good interest in Computer and I want to learn how a computer works these question made me to take this Computer science and Engineering course.The faculty are very friendly and they have good qualification for teaching us.Internal exams are conducted two times in a semester and one Final Semester exam.Difficulty for passing exam was moderate.

Oracle,TCS Ninja, Cognizant, Infosys,TCS Digital,Baton Systems,MRF, these are some of the companies came to our college for placements.The highest package till now is 7.9 lakh ctc.The average package is 4 lakh.The companies mainly offer system Engineer or software Engineering position. About 70% of the students get placements.After the degree some students go for higher education like M.Tech or MBA

College Events

The life of college was superb.There are many clubs in college for promotion various activities.The clubs includes NSS,Quiz Club, Literature Club,Dance Club.and many more.The tech fest is Dyuthi, it will conduct in February of every Year.There are many books and journals available in college Library.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My college is a government funded institution.So fee is low compared to private colleges.The annual fee for my course is around 10,000.The PTA association helps in financial assistance if necessary or we can apply for any government scholarship like Merit cum Means or E-grantz.

Admission

No.There is no Group Discussion or interview in the admission time.I have attended GD and interview in the time of placement test.At the time of admission,they only look the Rank scored in Entrance Examination.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course curriculum is lakhs relevance to modern industry demands. while it covers the basics there is minimum focus on practical skills emerging technologies and real world applications overall, the courses not comprehensive enough.

Is engineering here worth it?

Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

If you want to be in a controlled environment, focus on academics, make use of some good placement opportunities, and get somewhere career-wise I would be suggesting Amrita University.
