I want to pursue maths Hons from a good college so I decided to go to Delhi University after my board examinations. I collected information about the best colleges of Du then applied for it. Hansraj College has one of the best faculty of Delhi University. Teachers are very cooperative and supportive in nature. Due to covid online classes are going on and I am enjoying college life. I have learned many new things from my batchmates. The admission process is very easy college administration is very helpful you can call or mail them if you have any doubts about the procedure. First, you have to fill up a university form online then wait for the cutoff list to be released by colleges. The cutoff is based on the best four subjects or the best three subjects according to your course. There are two reasons why I have selected maths Hons Firstly I like maths so I decided to go with maths Hons and second as I already mentioned I want to appear for UPSC examination after my graduation where I can take maths optional. Hansraj College has a very good faculty. There are two or more teachers for every subject and most importantly they are very helpful they help you in your studies and also guide you about your career. Teachers are well qualified most of them have completed their PhD and masters from reputed colleges. They have very good teaching skills. The course is divided into 6 semesters so two semesters in a year. There are 4 subjects in 1st year 100 marks for each paper and 50 marks for practicals. Out of 100, 25 marks are marked by teachers based on internal assessment and attendance and for 75 marks there is a subjective paper. In further semesters the numbers of subjects are also increased according to your course. One can easily get good marks in semester exams.

Yes, Hansraj college provides internship opportunities for college students. Many societies provide internship related information to the students. They help you in making a resume or CV for placement. There is an internship cell of Hansraj college too where one can find an internship according to his or her interest. As I am not interested in getting any placement from college I am not much aware of it.

There is a very good placement rate at Hansraj college. I can say there are not good placement options for my course but after coming to Delhi University you can get diverse career options as you can go for SSC cgl, SSC CPO, UPSC, State PCS, CDS, AFCAT and many more government services. Other than this one can do masters in the interested course and can get a good package. After graduation one can appear for competitive exams like IIT jam, CAT ( exam for MBA ), Clat ( law exam) and many more. I have a simple plan after completing my graduation I will appear for the union public service examination. I will start my preparation from 2nd year itself UPSC provides you with a very diverse platform to perform. My plan B is to go for SSC and other state level examinations after completing graduation.

The fees of Hansraj college is very moderate. It is started from 18,000 to 25,000 RS per year. The fees of the math Hons course is 24,115 RS ( including Examination fees). College also provides scholarship and fee concession to the students based on the financial background of the student. One can avail of this scholarship easily. After taking admission into the college one has to fill the form provided by the college authority then they will take interview selected students. After this college released a list of selected students who secure the scholarship. A student can also avail of scholarships like inspire scholarship which amounts to 80,000 per year and NSP which amounts 10,000Rs per year. I have applied for inspire scholarship one my friend got both nsp and fee concession from college. It is very easy to get a scholarship you have to follow the procedure carefully. I think one can easily afford expenses at Delhi University just you have to apply mind and stay active.

Due to covid 19, we are in online mode but according to our seniors, Hansraj college has one of the best fests in Delhi University. In college fests Chief guest is singers, actors, stand up comedians. Hansraj College has a very good library one can find many good books in the library. There are many societies and clubs in Hansraj college. Nishtha the civil services society is one of the best society in Delhi University. I will suggest the student which has an interest in civil services must go for nishtha society. There are many more societies like wdc, Kavyanjali, kalakirti, NSS etc one can find every kind of society in Hansraj college. Our maths hons department has its own newsletter and website. Maths society also publishes its own journal Evey year. Students from extracurricular activities also get the advantage in the cutoff list similarly student with sports background can get the advantage in the cutoff list. I would recommend if a student want to come to DU one should check Hansraj college first.
