Remarks

I chose to attend this college because the educational infrastructure of NMIMS is very nice and not only does the college focus on the studies of the students, but also provides them with ample opportunities for personality development. The exposure provided by NMIMS plays a very crucial role in the holistic development of the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I am currently pursuing BSc Applied Statistics and Analytics, which is a very popular course, specifically today where Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence are becoming a core aspect of almost every industry. It is a fantastic balance of Statistics and Coding. I chose to pursue this course because is has a wide variety of career options after this as this creates a base for ML as well AI. Our batch comprises 20 students and our faculty makes it a point to focus on the various needs of every student. Each of the faculty members are highly qualified and are very well aware of the new technologies. Thus, imparting not only theoretical but also practical knowledge to the students. The term exams are a source of understanding how much the students are able to understand and I personally think that focusing on the class properly can help a lot during exams.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements provided to the students are very good , a large number of companies offer placements to the students. Also, there is a dedicated group of students and teachers who are a part of the placement committee which keeps adding companies in the database.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fees for first year was Rs 1,27,000 and I think it is affordable because the facilities which are provided to us are totally worth it. The fee hike after every year is also pretty nominal .

Campus Life

4.5

In our first year itself three events took place namely Umang, Margdarshak 2.0 and Ignite. Each of these events was different , Umang was a cultural event, Margdarshak was a platform wherein speakers from various arenas came and discussed various topics and Ignite was a tech event which comprised hackathons, webinars and other competitions. There are a lot of books and journals available in the library. There are many clubs run by the students such as the Analytics Club which is run by the students of School Of Science is a good initiative which helps students know the various fields of Data Science and provides them with knowledge related to other subjects as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
