IIT Kharagpur is one of the most reputed engineering colleges. Good quality professors, campus life, academic as well as extra-academic activities are the things that distinguish this college from other engineering colleges.

The course curriculum of my department is best and the faculty members are kind enough. They have good subject knowledge and also give us proper guidance timely about career opportunities and other opportunities as well. if we see the student-faculty ratio then it is almost 1:50 means every 50 students at IIT KGP have 1 faculty member. faculty members are highly educated and master in their respective subject in theory, as well as practical and also a good sense of teaching all, are highly experienced in teaching. in the offline semester, there are 2 main exams(mid-term and end-term) along with these 2 major tests,s and sometimes some surprise tests also be there. Tests and exams are quite easy if we listen to all the lectures carefully then it's very easy to get higher marks.

Like placements, the internship opportunities are also the same, students get an internship on campus as well as off-campus most of the companies that come to our college are offered software and data profile so most of the students irrespective of their department get internship/placement offer in this field.

Placements are quite average, from the 7th semester(in pre final year) students become eligible for campus placement. there are lots of companies visit the campus almost 150 to 200. and almost 900 to 1000 offers made every year by the companies. the highest package almost 1cr+ and the average package is 30lac+. Almost 85 to 90% of students get placement offer.

fee structure- Tuition fee - 100000 Hostel fee - 33000 (includes all other fees) If your family income is less than 1 lac then your complete tuition fee will be waived and if your family income is between 1lac to 5lac then 66% of the tuition fee will be waived and if greater than 5lac then you have to pay the complete tuition fee for this you have to submit family income certificate signed by your district magistrate/tehsildar etc. There are lots of scholarship available, I got an MCM scholarship in which I get 1000/month every year.

Campus life is best here. you will get everything that you want from a small food corner to a big technical and cultural fest. The technical fest that is conducted in our college is KHITIZ (Asia's biggest technical fest) and cultural fest SPRING FEST(Asia's biggest cultural fest) both held in the month of January. IIT KGP has a digital library that is the biggest in India and almost every other book is available here. the sports culture is also fine. there is sports ground for every game for whole college as well as personal hostel wise in every hostel. there are lots of social groups and clubs run by students such as E-CELL, Comedy club, TADS, RCA, and many others.

Hostels are fine. there is one room per 3 students. not big enough but sufficient to live. food quality is also good and workers of mess are also friendly with students. every facility is available for a hostel that is needed. There is not a much-complicated registration process, you will be allocated your hostel online and when you arrive you just have to submit an offer later from college.

For admission, there is only an entrance exam. first, you have to qualify jee-mains and then qualify to jee- advanced. the syllabus for these exams is quite easy it includes only 11th and 12th PCM. the level of questions asked in jee-advanced will be high so this needs a lot of practice as well as motivation for a complete year.
